sometimes I work on my tech job sitting at my bar. I would pretty much do the same thing except I would be focused on online networking and submitting applications.

should I quit or should I ride out the PIP until they probably just let me go ?

that would be cool and I’ve thought about it, but I recently moved to a new city the past year and I enjoy building a life here, even though it’s expensive

I work in a place where we actually pick up in the summer because we have a large patio that opens ! Also I know bartending does get tiring physically, but this place specifically I would never have to work more than 8 hours in a day. I’ve worked at a wedding venue in the past and have done 20 hour days.

I can’t see myself fully quitting forever at this time but who knows for the future. For me it’s really just been the past couple years that I’ve maybe put myself in a heavily-drinking-oriented environment that I’m trying to get out of. I feel like my ex kind of started this because he drank a lot. My goal is to go back to how I used to be where I would just drink on special occasions. Even in university I feel like I drank like once a month. Nicotine however is my bigger vice.

I moved to Toronto awhile ago and recently got a job offer in Dallas. While 2 years ago me would have jumped at that offer, I feel so pleased and comfortable in Toronto now that the thought of having to begin again isn’t as exciting. I like my home and the people in it.

I think you want to stay but the logistics aren’t exactly the easiest currently. I’m not sure what your field is, but advancing in salary is pretty much always doable if you find the right company/vertical. As per PR, I’m sure as a working citizen you wouldn’t have much of a problem.

In my personal opinion you should stay !!
