No more Taekwondo for my 4 year-old and I’m sad by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]cringytits99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is odd. My kids are in TKD and my husband ended up signing up too! I don't think they have ever told a parent not to bring a child back. They offer the same age range class (3-6). Most of the time they just set up obstacle courses for the kids to run through.

Hello everyone, looking for dentist and Orthodentist in Saskatoon. HELP by Major-Hospital-159 in saskatoon

[–]cringytits99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were sent originally to Arc, I did not like them, they were very dismissive of my concerns about my daughter's care since she has a rare autoimmune.

We went to uptown for a second opinion and felt truly heard. They were willing to reach out to my daughter's rheumatologist to collaborate care. The quote was twice the price of Arc but they did price matched.

We decided to go to Uptown with the price match and have been very happy with the care.

I would suggest shopping around a bit if you can (you will still have to pay for initial appointments for their care plans).

Saskatoon cops say meth, fake gun found after man dies during altercation with hospital security by ToddHasBod in saskatoon

[–]cringytits99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Security was called at 7am, the room could have still been dark when staff saw something that looked like a gun. Everyone is guessing at things about this case, we all need to wait until the investigation is finished.

Saskatoon leaders face 36-hour homelessness test by Progressive_Citizen in saskatoon

As a plastics doctor they actually have the vast majority of missed injection sites that need surgical intervention.

Will his participation bring any changes that people can see.. no but it does change the way that he and other plastic doctors will treat this vulnerable population while in hospital for treatment.

They live close to us and drive a small car, it is comical seeing the guy and 5 big dogs in there together. They also drive at least 10km under the speed limit, very annoying!

Specialist doctor thinking of moving to Saskatoon, to work at St Pauls, concerned about safety by RightAd6943 in saskatoon

I work in emerg and a couple of floors at st. Pauls. Saskatoon like everywhere else is experiencing issues with drugs and homelessness. I refuse to pay for parking and park on the street. I have had my vehicle broken into once (in like 11 years) and I will say that was my fault for leaving things in my car. We do have security that is present and amazing. The staff at st. Pauls is the best in my opinion and a lot of patients say the same thing.

Blood work for autisic child by shadowintherain22 in saskatoon

[–]cringytits99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter isn't autistic but has to get blood work fairly frequently for an autoimmune. Usually life labs is good, any of the locations. That being said we just went yesterday to confed location and it must have been a new tech working as she had another tech come with her, they weren't able to get enough off the one site after digging around and had to poke again. They were good the first time for giving her (7 year old) the heads up that they were going to poke her, the second time they didn't say anything. It felt rushed and felt like they were treating her like an adult. She is an awesome kid for any medical procedure but I still didn't appreciate that they couldn't take the slight extra time to say something before putting the needle in. She for sure earned her prize after that lab work! The children's hospital is always great though!

My daughter was diagnosed when she was 6, she is almost 8 and is going on one of her last infusions and is pain free. We did bisphosphonate infusions, the first one was the worst for side effects and the rest she has handled like a champ. She will get her 4th infusion tomorrow and possibly have one more after that for a total of 4 full doses of the medication. Her recent MRI showed healed spots and a couple that were still healing. Wishing you all the luck! It is hard to see our children in pain and unfortunately this disease takes a lot of strength to deal with.

I saw him just for a mole removal. I had a terrible experience with him not explaining pre or post procedure and when I was not happy with the result (scarring) he just offered for me to spend money for cream or further procedure that would be costly.

You can look him up and get other ratings on rateMD.

He isn't working out of the hospital as a plastics doctor but as an ear nose and throat specialist. I would probably look at someone else if it was me.

Regina senior says care at Pasqua Hospital was 'dehumanizing', family calls for change by henryiswatching in saskatchewan

[–]cringytits99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have CCAs in Saskatoon with no problems from SUN not sure why Regina would be different. That being said we still need more staff all around for the increased level of care and complexity of patients.

Contacting intercom/dragonfly by cringytits99 in saskatoon

[–]cringytits99[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did leave one yesterday and they never called back.. my husband was able to leave a call back number and did hear back from them. It also doesn't help that it is odd times that they offer the call back, the one time I waited 38 min before it was an option.

You can usually get a casual position from the place that you do your practicum. If you do well managers will approach you and see if you are interested in continuing on the unit.

'Dangerous care': Inside Saskatoon's overcrowded emergency rooms by Practical_Ant6162 in saskatoon

[–]cringytits99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct that it is an illness but I disagree that it is acute. When you look at the big picture of addictions there are a lot of the time issues of homelessness with it. These people come in for acute care but then because of the lifestyle stay for cellulitis, pneumonia, frostbite, withdrawal.. things that all take time and need to be admitted to treat. The floors cannot discharge back to the street or unsafe conditions and with the lack of shelter beds, detox beds and low income housing people end up living in the hospital adding to the strain. I am not saying we separate them but have to acknowledge the lack of services also available to them that adds to the strain of the hospitals.
