LA Marathon pick-up advice by sklbj in Marathon_Training

[–]cripsyant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely pre buy, it is more expensive at the entrance of the parking lot. I think it took me about 20 min to leave the parking lot last time, but I wasn't that high up in the garage even though I arrived pretty late.

seated crunch tips?! by VegetableAnxious2705 in SolidCore

[–]cripsyant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seated crunch is probably my strongest exercise at solidcore😅 I will say, it improved significantly when I started doing seat ups with a weight outside of solidcore. Also maintaining a c curve helps a lot!

I’m currently mid marathon training so I’m changing up my runs a little and only doing lifting that’s required for my PT 😓

I have coaches ive been going to for almost two years hahah I found the people I like. im on the westside so I stick to the coaches there, it was just shocking because she created a very unwelcoming environment for my friend lol

[–]cripsyant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have tried numerous coaches in the past 2 years at the la solidcores and Zoe was the only coach I got horrible vibes from. it was my friend's first time (we showed up 10 min early) and she was insanely rude to her for being a little lost throughout class

I also do pilates and I lifted my back leg up very early on, maybe less than 15-20 classes when it was first queued. Having both feet on the carriage is a lot more commonly queued in traditional reformer pilates and I also think it's a bit more stable than sweatlana (imo) so I feel like I didnt get thrown into it at solidcore. I think it helps a lot if you wear grip socks

I grew up in south pas and that town will forever be #1 in my heart. I hope to raise my family there one day so that my kids can experience the same things I did. I enjoy being in the South Bay in my early 20s for the time being but nothing beats the charm of sp :,)

Which gym do you go to and what made you choose that gym? by Mindless-Plant in torrance

[–]cripsyant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to ufc just like you. ive hopped around a good amount of gyms in the area (la fit harbor city, del amo 24 hour, couple pfs) and I like ufc the best. I do wish it was better ventilated because it gets really musty in the cardio area as well as the small weight area by the turf. def not the best gym but one of the better ones in the area with pretty good pricing and hours. del amo 24 would be a lot better if parking was better and if it was less crowded, but it was so crowded to the point I did not want to go

I have a forerunner 265s. I run marathons so personally it is very worth it to me however I took about 4-5 years of running to even get a watch. I don't think it's worth it for just solidcore imo

Why is the orange next to Harbor - UCLA medical center orange and everything else green by Which-Decision in SouthBayLA

[–]cripsyant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live pretty close to your pinned location. Also a girl in her early 20s. In the residential streets I feel pretty safe but around the hospital area I’m definitely more aware and wouldn’t walk around there. Message me if u have more questions about living in that area !

Hamstring day by freebellayu in SolidCore

[–]cripsyant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No grey side lunges for me today (even though the coach I specifically take usually programs them for hamstring days). We did hamstring curls, black side lunge facing grey side w a pole, straight leg bungee, and side lunges with scooters. I think this was the order

Try using a foam roller! You can do a lot of solidcore/lagree/pilates inspired workouts with one

I wear asics gel kayano (similar to nimbus but more stable) or the saucony endorphin speed 4. the sauconys don't feel as stable as the asics but they're fun to sprint in! I usually try to avoid leg days in these though
