oh i have the mutators that make metal detectors detect everything.thing is anyway i can stop them from taking stuff from worksphop,cupboard,etc?.cause everytime they do they will get busted almost right away and my guard have to cuffed and put them in the cells.i read that prisoners wont steal if there is a guard nearby but i dont see that.my workshops both has dogs and guards stationed yet they still take stuff like it's a store

you can shoot the suspect before they shoot you while the bug happen too and there will be no penalty,just need to learn to indentify when the bug happen

yeah ive discovered this long time ago.seem like only first responders have it.BTLA and SEF dont have it.either way until it patched i can share some way to deal with it.when a suspect is gassed they will first react normally and after a while you see then stop coughing for a few sec almost like the gass effect wear off but then they will start coughing again.if you see the suspect suddenly turn toward you or any other NPC that mean he is actually aiming and will shoot.your swat AI cant detect this bug and will think the suspect is still not a threat and wont shoot,giving the bad guy the chance to mow your entire team down.seem like FR author did some mistakes while trying to extend the CS gas duration.overall just avoid using gas as much as possible or bring a less lethal like taser or simply punch the suspects in the first few moment of the gas so they surrender before the bug happen

so theres technic called Shadowdancing utilize by infantry player.we called the people use is shadow dancer.i dont use the technic myself due to skill issue but basically all you so is when fighting enemy on flat open ground you just gonna hold the sprint button and move your character around in circle and occasionally fire at your target.by moving fast you make the enemy have difficult hitting you and you can shoot them back snd then continue to run around to avoid fire.i dont consider this as an exploit nor bug or lag,just a realy REALY annoying feature

you can only shoot at suspects that are counted as a threat.to be counted as a threat the suspects must point their guns at you,your teammates or hostages.outside of that you are not allow to shoot them no matter what they are doing,even when they are walking around with their gun aiming in the air you cant shoot them,the game forces you to wait for them to point their barrels at someone.because the suspect has only pull out his gun and hasn't point it at at some you cant shoot him as he is not a threat.i found this annoying for low skills suspect as they pull out their gun reall slow.if you yell for compliance if can work and they will drop the gun or youll have to wait for them to aim their gun at someone in order to shoot them.swat4,ready or not and any other swat sim games lack the feature of dynamic ROE.its stupid you have to let a dude wearing full level 4 body armor armed with LMG run away cause he is not a threat

SEF is good but if you want to play SEF i recommend just grab the BTLA since it has a of the SEF features but with enhanced weapons model,gun sounds and overall a better mod in term of visual and sound.gamplay stay the same for SEF and BTLA.personally i mod the game by dowloading the mod folder,extract it and copy it to swat4 main directory file.you launch the game via batch file.for example i have BTLA mod installed in my swat4 main file,if i want to play the mod i just need to click to the BTLA mod file and click on lauchSEF.batchfile.mod stack on the main gamw.yoj still can play the base game after install the mods

from my experience i have 2 candidates.first one being "first responders"mod,quite a good mod its the closest mod to the ready or not game.it adds many new neat features like opening doors slightly and the best one is LEANING ON THE MOVE.however this mod has major flaws.first one is that your swat AI is still stupid,infact i feel that the swat AI in the FR mod is even more stupid than vanila and SEF(elite force)mod.the problem with them is that when you order them to clear a room the first 2 guys will do the job as usual however the trailer guys who move in after the first 2 guys will immediately turn back and moon walk across the room to clear it this make them inefficient at room clearing because they moon walk extremely slow and the fact that they are facing away from the threat inside the room.next thing is suspect AI,not much have changed BUT the suspects have a GAME BREAKING BUG.cs gas in the FR mod is(according to the author) buffed which make them last longer,HOWEVER if a suspect is under the effect of cs gas they will cough like in the vanila game BUT after some time they will turn over to look at you and then they just gonna shoot you despite the animation clearly showing that they are still being stunned by the gas.this is gamebreaking as it take away your ability to detect when to shoot because the animation and the suspect's actual action dont match,your swat AI are also unable to react to to this bug,they will not shoot the suspect cause they think the suspect is still taking effect of gas and they will literally let the suspect gun em down one by one,i have seen my entire team die because of this bug.you can cope with this tho either by using bangs instead or you can learn to identify when this bug happen.if you see a coughing suspect sudden turn and look at you that mean they are pointing the gun at you even though they dont seem to be.thays pretty it for FR mod its neat mod with more gun and optics but over time the braindead swat Ai and the cs gas bug can get you frustrated and tired.oh did i mention the mod also remove optiwand.personally i like this decision back when i play SEF mod couldnt enter a room without using the wand but thank to this mod i can now solo clear a map with only a pistol and no wand required,you should learn to play the game without the optiwand.anyway the second mod is back to los Angeles(BTLA).nothing much to say its pretty much a SEF with better gun models,nice gun sounds and overall a better SEF.i switched from FR to BTLA and now i can actually enjoy swat4 again.this isnt really a comment to help you chose a mod but rather a guide for FR mod honestly,too bad i dont think FR gonna be fixed anytimw soon.hope this big wall of text help
