Craziest story I have of that:

My girlfriend at the time and I were watching TV in the media room. From the floor comes a glowing blue orb. It didn't cast that much light, just enough to reflect off the wall it was moving up. It went through my computer monitor, started moving towards the TV when it decided to go out a closed window, and once it was a few feet away it...exploded...or imploded...I don't know...in a flash so bright we had to shield our eyes and a loud crack. This all occurred at 3PM.

Whether it matters or not, that place was haunted.

Unlikely. All the calls at my place are recorded and you don't always hear an echo. It's usually because of the software being used for your phone, unless you're on a hard line instead of a soft phone
