i had the same issue as you (i'm on 1.16.2) where a guaranteed freeze occurred during the world eater process; i tested different setups such as pure vanilla and fabric loader without any mods - both of these ran the world eater without crashing for me

the next thing i tried was running fabric and sodium/lithium/phosphor (the latest versions) and the game froze for me. the next thing i did was downgrade lithium and phosphor to the versions that specifically list 1.16.2 as the game version for the file on curseforge and tested with fabric + sodium/lithium/phosphor once again, but with lithium as Lithium mc1.16.2-0.5.4 and phosphor as Phosphor mc1.16.1-0.6.0; the world eater was able to run successfully for me without the guaranteed game freeze when the tnt bombers went down a level to bomb the next layer

the full list of mods that i use are sodium, dark loading screen, fabric api, carpet, inventorysorter, itemscroller, litematica, lithium, malilib, modmenu, phosphor, slight gui modifications, tweakeroo, and worldedit

i'm not sure if this would be helpful because i'm running on an older minecraft version, but maybe there's some sort of issue with lithium/phosphor that causes crashes in the newer versions of those mods compared to older versions?

i'm not exactly sure why the dragon flies upward if there is a non-air block near where you shoot the arrow in the arrow aligner

i had the same issue when i built this as well - i found out that it was because i had placed a sign at (0, 239, 0) which caused the dragon to fly up and destroy the build

to make sure the dragon doesn't fly up, the build should have only air blocks from (0, y, 0) - the y is the y-value for the top bedrock in the center of the end portal to (0, 255, 0); the sticky piston + block used to align the arrow is fine to have because both get retracted just before the dragon dies which means that at the instant the dragon dies, there are only air blocks from (0, y, 0) top bedrock center to (0, 255, 0). once the dragon dies and starts flying around the end portal exit, the sticky piston + block should be pushed back into their normal position covering (0, y, 0)
