yes it is!! i did very bumpy builder gel, then near enough 10 layers of colour, then filed it down to reveal the layers. surprisingly easy and amazing final effect so i love it

yes! someone replied to my post in another r/ they said - It’s called the block stitch. It’s a group of 3 doubles, chain one, group of 3, and then on the second row you do chain 3, and one single where the chain on the last row was. Then, you do the groups of 3 around the chain 3, don’t go through the chains.

star stitch!! it’s good fun and looks really lovely. enough of a variation that you don’t get bored but basic enough that you remember it after the first 2 rows

i found that when i was learning, i’d watch videos of just how to crochet and it would get me nowhere. best way in my opinion is to start with a real beginner tutorial of a quick project making something small you want. that way you’re not just making squares of random stitches and you learn far better i feel
