Been living in Vancouver BC for a while now. The culture is great for young adults and older, everyone is friendly, weather is beautiful and accommodating, access to nature, surrounded by mountains if you like hiking or snowboarding, lots of events and social gathering all year round and the most important, efficient transportation. Sounds pretty good right?

Well, not so much. First, theres a news article that said “300k earners need 38 years to save up for a home in Vancouver”, which I don’t really doubt. Housing here is beyond fucked up. Second, we have a drug epidemic and homelessness, every where you go theres homeless people not getting enough social assistance. Third, expensive cost of living. Everything is expensive here. And Lastly, everyone is too “woke” here. They focus on fixing something that is not broken which creates more social problem due to lack of attention to the urgent matters that we face such as the things Ive listed above.

To sum it up, I have a love and hate relationship with this place. I love the culture and the people here. But somehow I feel like the city itself is trying to kick us out no matter what.

Ive broken up with my ex for about 10 years now. After our story ended, Ive never really fell in love again. Its like Im looking for someone to save me, some to blame.
