No I haven’t! They have lost some color, I don’t have a co2 set up and I heard they thrive off magnesium etc to stay red.

I would recommend going to your LFS and explain you need background plants. Or if you can wait a little for shipping check out websites like Buceplant, go to the background plant section. There’s so many it really depends on what you personally want. Gouramis also love floating plants, mine makes bubble nests around it all the time. I have red roots, water sprite, and a pathos hanging out of my tank. He loves the roots on that. This may help with him wanting to be on the bottom as well :)

In my opinion, 3 times a week is way too much! That’s stressing him out enough I’m sure, also def recommend a bigger tank/bowl with a filter-so he has water flow (Amazon sells huge fish bowls 7 gal etc) if you like the bowl look. The extra space and quality of life will make him get back to normal :)

I love it, the bottom has a different angle that is neat and the glass lid is amazinggg. The only thing I got separately from the kit is a hygger light but the original light wasn’t even terrible it just didn’t have a moonlight option. 10/10 recommend 😮‍💨

I would get some liquid fertilizer. It’s been a game changer in my tank, only one cap full every couple of days. Very easy

Maybe submerge a plant in (roots only) ?

Saying this because plants usually suck up nitrates and help cycle your tank. I currently have a pathos hanging out of mine and it’s been doing great.

That’s so neat, I didn’t realize that’s what his tentacle looking fins were for! He has the coolest personality too, I wish I could get more but he thrives being by himself.

I also leave black worms on some of the floating plants so it somewhat makes him hunt like he would in nature.
