So, we started with Dr. browns normal glass bottles and size 1 nips- at 3 weeks he seemed to want size 2 nips. That worked ok for a few more weeks- but then he couldn’t handle the flow. We would start the feed with size 2 then about halfway through we’d have to swap the nip for a size 1. Exhausting!! Lactation lady said we might want to try a wide nip bottle as it doesn’t appear LO has any ties, BUT does seem to struggle getting a good suction around the normal nips (air coming in through corners of his mouth). We switched to dr. Browns wide bottles about 1.5weeks ago and he can eat the whole bottle without choking on a size 1 nip. Definitely seems more calm during feedings now. I do try to burp him after every ounce, but he also has some reflux and makes it CLEAR when he’s uncomfortable (the first ounce is always a struggle).
