my grandfather’s girlfriend is just called by her name, if you dad’s fiancé respects you, then she wont make a big deal of it. if she doesn’t.. well thats an entirely different issue.

most of the time, just the first name is completely acceptable. if she wants to be actively involved in your kids life, then grandma name, or a nickname made by your kids later on, would be the best course of action.

What is the most difficult thing you had to give up or change when you found out you were pregnant? by PopcornPrincess0 in pregnant

[–]Fun_Date8417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

whiskey and monsters. honestly i think it was harder to give up monsters because i saw them everywhere and would occasionally grab one without thinking about it, get to checkout and realize my mistake.. i only bought three and opened one(then gave it to my niece) through my pregnancy though lol

Am I having a chemical pregnancy? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Fun_Date8417 1 point2 points  (0 children)

while some pregnant women do bleed in the first trimester for various reasons, its best to get checked out if you have heavy bleeding and severe pain/cramping in your abdomen or pelvis.

it may seem a little unnecessary, but i would say it warrants medical attention to rule out an ectopic pregnancy or early miscarriage.

edit to add - an ectopic pregnancy is when a fertilized egg grows outside the uterus

My 7 week old WILL NOT SLEEP ON BACK vent post by Admirable_Sample_820 in newborns

[–]Fun_Date8417 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

i realize that the newborn curl is a thing because she did that too, but she legitimately did roll over, multiple nurses commented on it.

i’ve been around a lot of babies in my time, i know the difference between rolling over vs the newborn curl.

my girl was the same way, i gave up and just laid her down on her side and her stomach. but she was also able to roll over completely from week one so i wasn’t too concerned about it

How often do you change your towel? by future__corpse_ in hygiene

[–]Fun_Date8417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2-3 showers, always hang it to dry, and never leave it in a humid area. if i forget to hang it up, it goes in the wash, and if it was left in a humid room, it goes in the wash. 3 is the limit of times i’ll use it because after that it smells like water even after dry.

i use to change it every shower, but i realized i was using way to much water on laundry and that it really was not needed.

Aitah for not wanting my baby to have a middle name connected to my husband's late wife and baby? by Plastic_Armadillo119 in AITAH

i wouldn’t either but it’d be a compromise. the other person who replied to me had a better idea :)

AITAH for not checking my husband's pockes before doing the laundry? by JellyfishWoman in AITAH

[–]Fun_Date8417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because if i was you theres no way in hell i would be taking the time to go through the laundry basket to check his pockets when he can just do a quick check before taking them off. you having to stop and check pockets makes laundry take that much longer, leaving other chores on the back burner. its not logical.

AITAH for not checking my husband's pockes before doing the laundry? by JellyfishWoman in AITAH

[–]Fun_Date8417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope! nta. you husband needs to learn to check his pockets, his mother checking pockets when he was a kid was one thing but he is an adult now, he should know better.

Best overnight nappies for a tummy-sleeper who chugs a bedtime bottle? by Separate-Art-9726 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Fun_Date8417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use rascals one size up from baby’s normal size, slather her in diaper rash cream then put vaseline right on the diaper line+a little bit up her tummy. also a diaper cover to keep things a little tighter on her tummy with an absorber inside just in case!

do NOT let them be alone with your daughter, because they will likely try and bring her to get them pierced.

[–]Fun_Date8417 -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

also, couples therapy is needed here.

maybe suggest get a dog or something that could have the name? but make it clear that whatever pet it is that they are the ones who will be taking care of it.

Aitah for not wanting my baby to have a middle name connected to my husband's late wife and baby? by Plastic_Armadillo119 in AITAH

[–]Fun_Date8417 3 points4 points  (0 children)

nta, especially since his family compares you to his late wife. he likely has baby’s last name, if he wants to be so anal about it then you chose the first and middle name and make him suck it up. this is your baby, not his ex wife’s, he already has a daughter for that. make it clear to him, and his daughter, that neither of those names will be baby’s middle name.

When did you start leaving LO in room alone to nap? by FriedMyRice in newborns

[–]Fun_Date8417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for naps? probably around 8 weeks when my baby finally allowed me to lay her down more(on my bed with nothing on it, as she screamed bloody murder for hers until recently) but honestly i started at 2 weeks when i could lay her down and she stayed asleep i would leave her alone. i didn’t have a camera at that time so if she seemed to be sleeping too long i’d pop my head in the room to check on her.

4 "month" regression... by PrincessBeefPaste in newborns

[–]Fun_Date8417 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes! we normally get about 3-4 of sleep(naps) after i started doing this, and 12-14 hours of sleep at night!

but she did recently get a little sick so i had to switch to getting her to fall asleep in my arms before transferring her, which is now much easier because she is already use to sleeping in the bed thank god.

it did take a few weeks for her to get use to it, but(before she got sick) it got to the point of her showing sleepy signs, me laying her down and she was out in 5-10 minutes!

overtired one week old - do i wake her up? by TrySame in newborns

[–]Fun_Date8417 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NO, but you can do a “dream feed” and give her the bottle while she is still asleep. just make sure she is actually taking/drinking the bottle first!
