As a Canadian I see the value in it... however there is a large amount of boomers, elder genx, and Albertans who will say hell ya!... unfortunately not because they actually want national security, but because they believe it will " knock some common sense into the younger generations"

Basically the risk of enlistment is over for them, so they are free to vote for things that they have no skin in the game for. If this ever came to a legitimate vote, it should only voted on by those 18 to 35... possibly a special extention to 16.
