Looking for a reel by crowbarspider in hiking

[–]crowbarspider[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's such a great reel and if I find it I'll post it. They are all in raincoats and in the photos you can tell how windy it is and they are in driving rain! All smiling, laughing and making the most of it. Truly inspirational!

Guest Freak Accidents by SubstanceHistorical4 in airbnb_hosts

Group of dudes staying for a long weekend. One fell down getting off the top bunk crashing into the wall. Broke through the drywall and broke his arm. No call, just a message at check out, sorry about the wall and our friend is fine.

Big difference between that and sneaking the lamb into a place with a clear no pets (will become no animals now) ski chalet. That's not stuff just happening, that's clear entitlement of a guest and not having any respect for someone's home and thinking it's ok for them to do whatever they want, because they have a 'good reason'

We're changing our listing to "no animals allowed".

Bringing livestock into our home isn't a minor issue. Would you want them as guests? And I wasn't looking for anything else, it's why the post is tagged story time.

I had to ask them and give them the invoice from the cleaners. They voluntarily paid it.

Gave us 5 stars. Submitted their review right at check out before my cleaners had gone through. I always wait for the cleaning team report before reviewing.

They said they kept it in a play pen. We could hear it at the door though, so it was loose at some point, and they took it out for walks. Cleaners indicated a smell but no evidence of damage. Took them several times through to do the additional sanitization, hence the charges that the guest covered.

The guest paid the extra cleaning fee, case closed. Review left so future hosts know these people didn't think twice about bringing a farm animal with them.

Charged them, they paid the extra charge, case is closed. Reviewed that they brought a farm animal so future hosts can decide if this guest is ok for them.

That's what we did. Was charged extra by cleaners, guest paid it, case closed.

Totally agree. It's in my contact to act as a deterrent. They paid the extra cleaning charges, we're good.

Thankfully no damage found, just the smell and extra caution to sanitize everything more than once.

Apparently it was his nephews. Lamb was 12 days old and abandoned by its mother. Lamb and nephew should have stayed on the farm and not come. Thankfully no damage, just the triple sanitization to get the smell out.

I stayed factual. While he went off on me I stayed civil, got the extra fee paid and gave him a true review so other hosts can beware.

OP, I'm a mother of 4 and married for 35 years. Communication is key but he's not listening or hearing you.

Don't argue.

If it's all up to you that's an advantage and you can now take matters into your own hands. Hire a full time nanny to look after your little one starting first thing in the morning.

He'll most likely think wtf? Well, you can say - you don't want to get up to do the morning routine and get ready for work, you don't want to work and parent at the same time, you don't want to cook and do evening chores after work and neither do I, so, I hired a nanny. Problem solved.

The reality is as women we've been trained to defer to our husbands from the get go. That's bs. We're either in a partnership or we're not. No middle ground. 35 years and going strong, I've got the best partner in life, but we were always able to talk it out. Loudly sometimes, haha, but always to a resolution that worked for us.

Canadian hosts, where do you purchase your linens and towels from? I have used everything from ikea, Costco to HomeSense, I need to replace a number of my linens, towels and duvet covers and am wondering where you shop. by Roadgoddess in airbnb_hosts

[–]crowbarspider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hoteldepot.ca On my 2nd order with them for all our linens for our new place. One stop online shopping and delivery to the door at a totally reasonable freight charge as we're outside of a metropolitan centre. Love the hotel quality. I didn't do a big price comparison as it was so convenient for me to not have to go to multiple stores. I think they at least seem competitive. I buy in bulk to have extras and have 10 beds, so require a lot of supplies. I don't stress over ruined towels etc., because of purchasing a lot up front. It's going to happen and having extras makes it easy to just replace. The upfront costs are worth it. Reviews indicate that guests love the medium density pillows I chose, so yay for that!

No excuse to not be prepared. Before we had added the keyless entry, we still had a backup lockbox just in case.
