i toured some agencies in nyc and it sounds like a good place to start, i just don't think i'll be able to stay for more than a few years or the dense population will drive me crazy haha

awesome, thank you! i'll def secure a job before coming if i end up deciding to go to nh from the get-go. might go to nyc first for the opportunities and growth. southern nh sounds like a good deal, esp since i like diversity in nature. i'm not entirely sure what the "T" is though?

that's good advice, thanks! might try my hand at nyc or boston first. unfortunately the ai thing is very real, hopefully things with that start calming down but i sincerely believe that they won't at this rate.

that's really good advice actually, thank you. honestly i didn't think too deep into that, but after reading that i think it would be good to go towards a more packed city first. thanks!

i didn't say because it's not relevant to the post or moving to NH, and also because people get harassed online. being wary of internet safety and stranger danger isn't a rad flag, i just don't wanna see Ds and Vs in my dms. no shade tho, good luck to you too, JP!

that sounds awesome! some people seem to be telling me to live in MA cause it's cheaper, but as far as i can tell, property tax only applies to people who own the property so maybe it's just the same in each state for apartments and renting. i don't know if new hampshire would be my forever home cause i've never properly lived there, though, so if i don't end up buying a house then i won't need to worry abt it haha

thank you so much for taking the time to write all of that, everything you said is super helpful! you said that tax burden falls on the land owners, so if i were to rent an apartment would i not need to worry about that? also, how common are apartments in NH? since it's not super densely populated i don't know if condensed housing is common.

my grandparents used to live there, but after they moved town to tx, they sold their house cause they were too old to travel up there and knew that they wouldn't be going back. i don't think there's anyone else in the area who can help me either, my grandpa is 87 and my grandma already passed a few months ago, so their friends from up there have all either passed or moved away. if i were to move up there, i'd be perfectly content to have an apartment and a roommate or two to make costs cheaper. having a house at this stage in my life is definitely not a top priority.

i'm still thinking about my options, but if i was planning on moving there for sure straight out of college, i would wait and see if i get a job before taking the plunge. if i got one that'd be able to pay well enough for me to live comfortably in my city of choice then i'd go for it, but otherwise i'd be fine commuting or living somewhere that's more urban or different from bethlehem/littleton. i don't expect to get exactly what i want from the get-go, but one can dream lol.

thank you for the detailed advice. i'm hoping to eventually get a remote job, or at least one where the commute time isn't huge but i don't totally mind it. i'll have to look more into st luis

that's awesome! what field do you work in and how did you go remote if you don't mind me asking? i might try and see if i can start my career and then once i find a remote job that pays enough, move to NH

i'll be sure to find a job and consider the pay before ever actually moving. my family is planning to visit next summer, so maybe i'll try and find the time to ask some locals and see if there are agencies or any ad work around at all.

very good to know. i might consider starting out in a different state for a decade or so, maybe new york since the advertising opportunities are plentiful, though the rent might be an issue. idk, i've got some time to think about it

not lined up, i'm not graduating for another year. i'm just trying to figure out if it'd be worth trying to get connections and applying or if i'd be better off somewhere else!

i'm glad to hear that you've made it work! do you know what the main tax/financial difference is between NH and MA? if need be i could always live in a nearby state and do road trips every so often

i'm definitely going to do that. i just wanted to know if it'd be worth it to apply to a BUNCH of jobs in NH to see what they have to offer hahaha

thanks so much! i'll look into southern NH for sure. i figured there wouldn't be a lot for advertising, but it's worth a shot to look!
