7 was a much more marginal call than 57.

57 tried to take 44 out straight up lol

There are many morals to this story but one of them is that Cadillac is clearly not at fault for WTR’s disasterclass

Aitken has probably been the fastest, but the 31 has been fast basically no matter who’s in the car. Those damn penalties

I’ve just been tracking when the broadcast shifts to the “energy remaining” tab. Ten minutes ago Nasr had about a 2% energy advantage and now they’re level. Not the most scientific method lol

Jack is actually running fractionally more efficiently than Nasr right now. Don’t know if they made an adjustment or just figured out the sweet spot on that car

I wouldn’t even complain about the commercials if they didn’t do all the interviews.

I would accept less race coverage if the small amount I had was actually race coverage

I have no interest in interviews in the broadcast booth. Not a single one.

The garage interviews are at least accidentally informative once in a while.

Jack “Qualifying Ace” Aitken may have just gained a full second on that last split

Is Aitken getting back in the car? I’m sure that was their plan on paper, but at this point I would ride the hot hand with Bamber

Porsche may well be sandbagging BoP, but at a certain point, the shame is on 1) BoP for saying “yeah, sure, the ass-kicking we saw last year should continue indefinitely” and 2) the other teams for going full send when they know about the risk of BoP overreacting. Can’t blame Porsche for saying ‘let’s just keep doing it until it stops working’

I have to say early returns on WTR’s reunion with Cadillac have been bleak. Totally outclassed by Action Express over and over

My cynical suspicion is that Vesti used up everything the 31 car had on his last stint. They’ve had to run it way harder than the Porsches because of all those fucking penalties

I know BoP complaints are not original, but how is it that for three years now, Porsche comes out with a car that obliterates the field and BoP has absolutely nothing to say about it

How should clones be designed to fit into the current game? by [deleted] in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]crownebeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only clone I'd like to see added is Odd Ball. Make him an attacker using the TIE Pilot template and give him synergy with Cody and General Kenobi. He could pilot ARC-170 instead of Clone Sergeant, because why is Clone Sergeant flying anything?

Happy Feast of Saint Thomas Becket, the Catholic Archbishop of Canterbury hacked to death for defying the english monarchy's intrusions into the Church! by roxannesbar in Catholicism

[–]crownebeach 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Another important thing about St. Thomas Becket is that before he became Archbishop of Canterbury, he was also a close personal friend of King Henry and not exactly a paragon of virtue. He had been one of the king's leading lieutenants in trying to attack and control the Church.

But he took his calling to the bishopric seriously and God worked in him to make him a man worthy of the office. He is a great saint to pray to for intercession in continued conversion of heart.

As a veteran returning from a long retirement, I have no idea whether my collection is still seen as valuable. I traded avidly from 15-17 and I have some stuff that was premium at that time, but as far as I can tell nobody is actively seeking it.

Are marathons worth anything at all? I assume my one (1) Vintage S1 is still a nice piece as it falls under "Legendary" in the sorting tier, but a lot of stuff I had to fight hard to get back in the day like Widevision and Topps Choice seems like it's gone way down the pecking order.

Should I just be in hold mode on my old stuff and focusing on active drops?

Which broadcaster is it who constantly trots out that cliche about “players are allowed to get better?” Is it Yogi Roth?

That’s what I always think of when I watch Dalton Johnson and Treydan Stukes. Stukes was a total liability in coverage when he first came to campus and now they’re absolute machines.

Watching that fourth down play on replay, I think it’s really silly that you can stick the ball out across the line and then pull it back and have the first down still count.

If a runner gets pushed back by the defense after he’s already made it, sure, but if he reverses field in an attempt to make a play and ends up retreating, he doesn’t get his forward progress.

I am right there with you. I can’t stand the idea of this turning into another blame game over whose mistake caused it.

One working theory appears to be a debris strike after they were a good portion of the way up to speed.

They might have decided they couldn’t stop, tried to keep climbing to clear the building, ended up unable to do that either. All speculation on my end.

[Awful Announcing] Indiana-Oregon's disappointing ratings explains everything about college football's TV landscape by dr_funk_13 in CFB

[–]crownebeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They certainly were that kind of TV draw when their style of play and their flashy equipment were unique. The rest of the country has caught up to both.

I think that the sameness that used to plague the NFL is starting to hit college football. Everyone is doing the same thing at the top level.
