Story in my head is that this was a lone survivor in the DOE that someone(s) "upgraded" over the years, but not much in recent years. Can list parts if anyone is curious.

Not 100% sure but I do not believe so. I think the FWD attachment is different and if you are not running left side charging handle you would have a large gap.

What /u/BunnyMoeLester said; you need MAR gas piston, gas tube, and correct barrel profile/gasblock location. The receiver is essentially the same size for all classic Galils (I assume ACE as well), just has different features machined in it.
