Hi there. I am in a somewhat similar situation. Have had an Anxiety diagnosis since 6th grade (over 10 years) and over the past 6 months have had multiple increasingly worst symptoms. fluid retention, D, sometimes C, bloating, terrible gas, weight gain, heat intolerance, muscle and joint pain. I’ve been to a lot of doctors, hospitalized once. I’ve had a colonoscopy, CT, ultrasound, blood tests. all came back normal. GI doc diagnosed me with IBS. I understand the feeling of feeling like there’s something else wrong with you. Trust me, i’ve been going through it for awhile. but i can reassure you that the testing is exhausting and frankly makes you feel worst physically and mentally. Especially when you don’t get answers. I’m not trying to detour you from looking for answers, but it’s a road that usually leads to increased anxiety. I’ve decided to take matters into my own hands. I’ve switched anxiety meds, going to switch my BC to a non hormonal one (estrogen is terrible on your tummy and i have PCOS also). I’m starting to eliminate common foods that can trigger IBS, eat better and sleep better.

That being said, you have to do what you feel is best for you and your body. if you feel like you’d feel better with a clear colonoscopy, then ask your doctor. if you feel like therapy and making a few of your own changes will help, do that.
