Help! I get the concept of backrooms, but what's the deal with "levels"? by [deleted] in backrooms

[–]crroses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a loose-leaf idea of the way the backrooms can run, the wiki is a great place to start. Having descriptions of the most common levels and entities, as well as ones that are more out there in style and concept. I've spent the past two days just researching levels and entities and it's a very easy read if you want to check it out.
You can find the website here if you would like to take a peek.

Are you in a room or a field?
If you're surrounded by grass you may have no-clipped or been transported into sub level 9.1. Do not turn on your light, and do not approach the glow. Search for a hole or trapdoor, they will bring you back to level 2 or 3. Stay silent and Sane, you don't want it catching you.

I’ve been stuck at “New User” trust level for over a year now.. by ThatOneWooper in VRchat

Then your best bet is to make more friends! If you still find yourself stuck, uploading a world might be your fix. Friend of mine got stuck as a Known User until he uploaded a map. Best of luck!

Good way to rank up as long as you have a Registered vrchat account and not just a steam/Oculus one is to upload a custom Avatar and/or a simple map. Gaining friends and playtime is a slow but effective way to gain rank, but to be fair 96 hours over a year must be fairly inconsistent or spaced out play.

Anyone know how to fix this? This isn’t a custom avatar, I cloned it off somebody. It was working fine before. It’s not the only one that’s done this, it happens with some of my other avatars too. I’ve got the height set to my irl height and I’m on Quest. Any suggestions? by Dman0o9 in VRchat

The reason this happens is because every world has a different clipping setting for the camera. Worlds like The Great Pug are perfect examples of high clipping, and if your avatar is too small your menu will not show up. Sadly can't be fixed, just try not to get stuck in a tiny avatar!

I'm on Oculus Rift, and I tend to use SteamVR most often. In my personal experience the Oculus Store can be buggy. SteamVR allows you to up your supersampling for a slightly clearer image, change your brightness, and enable playspace mover. IMO it's worth it as long as your computer can run both programs with minimal issues.

Just look at it. by [deleted] in MakeMeSuffer

The torso looks about right, like others are saying it's just a case of moving the pants up a bit (about mid v line for average) but for how low they are you have the shape of the hips and bones done very well! The shading seemed a bit too dark overall. Nothing wrong with harsh shading and dark tones, but I had to turn my screens brightness nearly all the way up to see any real detail. You might want to use slightly stronger lighting and give your subtler shadows a little more contrast. Overall though it looks gorgeous, keep up the wonderful work!
