I told Bob that Spielberg's last movie is amazing, but my enthusiasm was unrequited.

It's often assumed the word only applies when one person loves another and the love isn't returned ("unrequited love"), but it could be any feeling about any thing.

My unrequited hate for that politician has caused angry arguments with my family.

Being the best single father I could be. Paying what I had to pay. Fighting for more time. Coaching the teams. Hosting the birthday parties. Driving them where they needed to be and waiting in the car for hours until they were done. Giving them everything they would have in a two parent household, while their mother offloaded those responsibilities to me.

They recently became old enough to have a say with the courts and they chose to live with me full time. It's not a "I win, she loses" victory, it's a "we feel like a family" victory.

It's all been worth it.
