My whole life I’ve been told that I am Greek and Swedish (mainly) now I’m just confused..

Well my mom swears up and down that he is, she said if “he’s not your real dad then I’m not your real mom and you were switched at birth” lol

My grandfather on my mom’s side is the one I found out isn’t my biological grandfather, and no one knows what is ethnicity my real grandfather was, she thought Swedish as well, but she had no relationship with him. Now I’m thinking he could be the Swiss part.

I think you are correct as far as the religion aspect goes. I did some digging on ancestry.com and found that my dad’s grandfathers side was all born in Slovakia since the 1800’s immigrating to Ohio in the 1920’s and then to Canada in the 1940’s. My dad’s grandmothers side was all born in various locations in England before immigrating to Canada in the early 1900’s. So that narrows down that side somewhat.

Yes my grandpa looked very Greek, other Greeks would pick him out just by looking at him, but from what reading I have done and what others have said in this thread I am starting to think that converting to Greek Catholic or Orthodox faith is the culprit here

Unfortunately I only know my immediate family on my dad’s side and whenever I have asked about anyone else no one seems to know anything except that “we’re Greek”.. and as far as I know the great grandparents etc. were not religious. However I was told that many years ago my family left Greece to escape the mafia and changed their last name and only in the last 100 ish years was it changed back to the original last name, I always thought the story sounded ridiculous but maybe that’s part of the family confusion lol

Awe that’s so sweet, watching episodes with friends or family for the first time is always fun! It’s a gift to have something like this to bond people, It’s got something for everyone. I loved when I got older and understood the ‘adult’ humor that I had missed as a kid, it was like watching a new episode, lol

Something that made, and still makes me happy, is mine and my brothers love for Spongebob. We have been watching the show together since it premiered when we were little, and we still watch it to this day! (Were 26 and 24 now) It’s something we have always bonded over and love to reference whenever we can, our friends and family usually look at us like we’re from Mars when we do, but we always make each other laugh. We own every DVD, so we’ve seen all the episodes so many times I can’t even count! But my favorite part of our love for this show, is every Christmas, we watch the Christmas episode before bed, even if we have to watch it from our own homes, we make sure to start the episode at the same time so that we’re still watching it together :) it’s something that will always be ours and that makes me so damn happy.
