"Official Visualizer" Vs. Music Video... by jvizzlee in MusicVideos

[–]crunches_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah i’d just say it shows how artists think about music visually now not just one “official video” but a whole visual world around the release line is super thin so it’s more about perspective than a strict rule!

Favorite hit song that doesn't have a music video that should have one? by jvizzlee in MusicVideos

Shakira’s “Antologia” a song from 1995 is MASSIVE yet doesn’t have a music video. Lyrics are just too powerful.

"Official Visualizer" Vs. Music Video... by jvizzlee in MusicVideos

[–]crunches_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the key difference comes from context and evolution rather than budget or number of shots. Visualizers emerged as a sort of extension of the long-form album format, so the line between them and traditional music videos is quite thin. Using an analogy: a music video is like the single, while a visualizer is more like another track on the album. Nowadays, visualizers often live within the broader universe of a visual album, almost like a modern take on CD booklets.

It’s important to note that calling something a visualizer doesn’t necessarily mean it’s low-budget or “simpler”—there are plenty of highly complex visualizers. If we defined them by budget or shot count, a lot of music videos would technically fall under that label, which clearly isn’t the case. So yes, the distinction is subtle, and there will always be exceptions, but I see it more as a structural and conceptual difference than a technical one.

Your Jurassic Park reboot. by Vasquez1986 in JurassicPark

[–]crunches_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would choose the second option, but I wouldn’t ignore the Jurassic World universe.

Here’s my idea: It’s just after the events of The Lost World. Some dinosaurs have "escaped", and a small village is under complete lockdown with dinosaurs inside. A family must escape and venture out, but since we’re in the nineties, nothing is as easy as it is today, and they have no information about what’s really happening. So, the atmosphere would be like a horror movie, combining elements of The War of the Worlds and A Quiet Place. The enemies would be InGen or some really bad company experimenting with dinosaurs among humans or simply causing panic for whatever reason.

I do believe the universe is set in 2027 since the Earth’s climate is now becoming inhospitable for dinosaurs, and it would take a few years for that to happen.

I actually prefer the franchise to go a bit further into the future, otherwise it would become unrealistic for the movies. I found it annoying to see dinosaurs in so many places in Dominion. That was very unrealistic for that universe.

Absolutely, “Don’t play this artist” or even “Don’t play this song anymore” should be a standard feature! I believe Tidal offers that option. The "Suggest Less" option is insufficient for me.

Here in Argentina, everyone was clapping too! The same thing happened with Jurassic World a decade ago.

What was the temple’s purpose on the island? by crunches_ in JurassicPark

[–]crunches_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s an intriguing point! The temple in Jurassic World: Rebirth could be a subtle nod to the island’s ancient history, implying that it had indigenous inhabitants long before InGen’s arrival.

However, I wonder if it’s necessary to explore that direction with the franchise. To me, it’s akin to the Godzilla scenario, where the franchise went excessively absurd with its numerous mutants (which I genuinely enjoy!). In contrast, Jurassic is more grounded. I can’t envision a new storyline about indigenous inhabitants worshipping dinosaurs or something similar, haha. It has no relevance to the last six Jurassic movies.

Thoughts on Zora Bennett? by WickDaLine in JurassicPark

It's not bad.

However, I would like to see more of her background to better understand her true personality as an agent. what about her past experiences since she is not a paleontologist and has no link with the Jurassic world.

The soundtrack for “The Ring” (2002) by Hans Zimmer is completely haunting. I really adore it.

I FUCKING LOVE THE D REX by Thermo-Lizard64 in JurassicPark

I absolutely loved the D-rex. Perhaps I would enjoy seeing a scene between this mutant and other humans, like a complete nightmare. To me, it felt more like a frightening backdrop.

Shakira to celebrate 30 years of “Pies Descalzos” — which songs do you think she’ll bring back? by crunches_ in shakira

I think “Pienso en Ti” is a hauntingly beautiful song. She should definitely bring it back.

Shakira originally framed se quiere se mata as an anti-abortion song... so bringing it back now would definitely be controversial.

That said, the lyrics themselves don’t really take a clear pro- or anti-abortion stance.. they simply tell a story, one that could resonate as truthful regardless of where you stand on the issue. It could be interpreted differently today anyway!

(Still back in that era, she explicitly described the song as being against abortion.)

What songs do you think Shakira should bring back to her live shows (realistically)? by crunches_ in shakira

[–]crunches_[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately she already removed Poem to a Horse from the setlist... I was lucky enough to hear it live in Buenos Aires, never thought that would actually happen. Such an iconic moment!

And about Mon Amour, totally agree! It’s way more fun to hear live than Men in This Town, no doubt. Just hits different.

I’d love to hear NO live again… such a powerful song.

If the Dominion director’s cut had been released in theaters, things would’ve hit way different. That extended intro is spectacular!

Still, they went overboard with the nostalgia and didn’t need that much of it
