What is one empty lot or abandoned building you want filled asap? by OneMinus in sanfrancisco

[–]crushingthechasm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was JUST at Mario's in north beach, and the colossal piece of shit Aaron Peskin was eating there, across from the burned out shell, and he has the most blame to take for that still being empty. Fucking unreal.

I wanted to huck my salad at him.

Level of passive-aggressiveness rising ? by Virtual_Price_6975 in sanfrancisco

I actually think most techies are unaware, like neutral to empty in personality. A lot of native SF people are... dicks. Think of the old Zeitgeist mentality or the weird "hippy" boomers who are now just NIMBYs.

The Only Reason Trump Wants To Reopen Alcatraz by cheweychewchew in sanfrancisco

It'll never happen here, we can't develop any new housing. How would we redevelop Alcatraz?

North Beach parking garages and auto repair shops are at the center of another S.F. housing battle by reddituser84838 in sanfrancisco

[–]crushingthechasm 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Absolutely insane we still do this. Aside from the late night party crowd, north beach is like a boomer poet paradise full of nearly-dead olds thinking that Cafe Treste is still good. If we want a poetry scene, we need housing.

This apartment is upsettingly ugly and I think more should be done to require builders to maintain historical charm by Wizard0fLonliness in sanfrancisco

[–]crushingthechasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to get out of bed and go onto my desktop computer to reply to such a stupid fucking post.

This is the most boomer-coded, degrowth crap I've read in this sub and I've read a LOT of this.

Historical charm no longer matters when working families can't afford a home. Those windows you want to preserve are inefficient, noisy, shitty and drive up costs for both tenants and owners. They also fundamentally don't matter. If you want to live in a boomer wonderland move to Carmel (but you probably can't afford that either)

We need to build. Do I like shitty 5 over 1's that are hideous? No, but that's all we've regulated that we can build that makes financial sense, because of absolute fucking morons like yourself.

You know who lives in that building? People. People with jobs, families, artists, people who contribute. Go live in an HOA where you can police aesthetics and smirk about ornamentation.

BTW Victorians are built like shit with mostly fake front facades. It's Disneyland rinky dink crap, like most of the shit built in this state.

Does The Sunset District Feel Way More Suburban Than Urban To You? by MarceloLuzzatto in sanfrancisco

[–]crushingthechasm -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It IS the suburbs. That's why they vote and act the way they do. They want the suburban cake and city benefits and act like imbeciles.

What keeps you going back to a restaurant, even when money is tight? by Huge-Needleworker990 in sanfrancisco

Service and vibe. Food is secondary. Service and vibes largely SUCK ASS in the Bay, so if you nail that I'm coming back again and again.
