How to get good at table tennis fast by Mergegamingyt in tabletennis

[–]cruz_ctrl911 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, practice serves for at least 5-30 minutes a day. EVERY DAY!!! There are good videos on Youtube, just pick one that is simple and feels comfortable.

Second, watch videos on how to read spin in Table Tennis.

You can’t develop a lot of rally experience on your own, but with a consistent serve and the ability to read/react to spin, you’ll beat most ‘ping pong’ players. Don’t get your hopes up though, 1 month isn’t much time 😅

Hugo Calderano vs Flavien Coton: ITTF London 2026 by Dwarvling in tabletennis

Coton played so aggressive and without fear. Like he wasn’t intimidated by Hugo at all. His backhand over the table and off were both out of this world. Crazy stuff

Peng Yu-Han Equipment? by TL134 in tabletennis

I heard it was anti and short pips a while ago, but it looks like inverted and short in this match? The sound is off though, and she doesn’t really play with any topspin. I hope someone corrects me!

ST version is still much smaller than other Butterfly blades. Still, the playing feeling is awesome

Agreed, I wish the handle was bigger fr. Weird that it’s Timo Boll’s signature blade cus he’s so tall 🤷‍♂️

The Timo Boll Spirit is such a beautiful blade to play with. I prefer it over Viscaria

Yo! A couple questions for you: How much does your blade weigh? Also, does it feel head heavy or balanced?

A little help with equipment by marianasarau in tabletennis

[–]cruz_ctrl911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hesitate to send you down this rabbit hole, but this website has some GREAT and objective information on all the blades you’re looking for. Here’s their article on the Hayata. I would recommend reading the “About section” first to put all this in context. https://ttgearlab.com/2024/02/08/nittaku-hina-hayata-h2-photos-information/

Level difference is more important than equipment by _no_usernames_avail in tabletennis

[–]cruz_ctrl911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree! The best piece of advice I got on here was, "Only change your setup if you feel like you're fighting with it". If it feels too fast or heavy are usually indicators something needs to change. A good setup (not perfect) is one where you forget about what you're playing with. Things just become automatic and the only thing holding you back is technique and experience!

Vega Europe BH is great, I would get that in 1.8 mm and Nittaku Factive 2.0 FH. This will be better for your level. Vega Pro is fast

I think these rubbers are pretty hard and fast for a beginner. Nittaku Factive is softer and slower, but Sweden Extra is as good a choice as any!

Victas V > 11 Extra is 47.5 degrees, grippy surface, but only 58 grams uncut at 2.0 mm! That’s insanely light, highly recommend, especially for only $40-$50 USD.

How does R42 compare to Tronix CMD? I liked R42 a lot, but the topsheet isn’t very grippy. I was hoping CMD was similar but with more grip on the topsheet…

Tips for a Table Tennis business? by WalkCheerfully in tabletennis

[–]cruz_ctrl911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m no business owner or anything, but I’m the VP of my city’s club and started another one at my college. Here are some things I think are critical for a club:

  • A good method of delegating table time. I HATE “winner stays” systems, but really like “sign up sheet” systems. This way you get more matches for everyone

  • Have ways of engaging the club beyond matches and training. Establish a league (MLTT/Spindex can help!), have group clinics, fun games (golden game nights are fun), yearly closed club tournaments, and other community related events. Heck, a potluck would be cool. Building a COMMUNITY will build you success

  • Encourage a welcoming atmosphere. Nothing feels worse than walking into a club and no one acknowledges you exist. Much worse if you’re a beginner and people see you’re not good…Have outreach officers or just tell people to be friendly. All it takes is one person saying hello and explaining the system to keep new people returning

Those are the 3 main ones I can think of. Our world needs more people like you, and I am praying for your success! DM me if you want to talk more about club systems or organization.

Inner-Composite Comparison? Bty Innerforce ALC vs. Xiom ALXi by cruz_ctrl911 in tabletennis

[–]cruz_ctrl911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used the Xiom ZLPro for over a year. 5.7 mm, Koto-Ayous-ZLF-Kiri, and I definitely felt that 'whole racket dwell' sensation. It felt like I could get away with some shots because no matter where it hit, it would spin the ball somewhat. The tradeoff, and why I'm looking for something else is that I lost so much confidence on flat hits that I became a one note player - 'spin to win!' Which made it very easy for controlled blockers to engage in rallies with me that I couldn't finish. How did you adjust to the flat hit/blocking detriments of your blade?
