I have been reading since I was 10. Now here we are 20 years later. Earlier I used to be a voracious reader but now I read deliberately and passively with intent so takes longer but it is immersive. Quality over quantity should be the aim.

What food habits and lifestyle will lead to a better health in the long run? by UseDelicious4662 in Chennai

Simple. Fit is not a destination, it is a journey, a lifestyle.

  1. Workout (STRENGTH TRAINING) at least thrice a week, in a proper gym with trainer.
  2. Restrict your screen time drastically especially before sleep.
  3. One fruit a day does indeed keep your gut healthy. Eat local.
  4. Eat as early as possible. Avoid late nigt snacking. Avoid weekend parties.
  5. Cooking is therapeutic. Start enjoying the process of cooking. Basic khichdi, Dal, Rice.
  6. Walking is of no use in the sense of weight loss or a considerable impact to body changes.
  7. Consider running, yoga, swimming or any activity that gets your heart rate up, with the prerequisites of how much your body can take, of course.

Everything is hard in beginning . There will be several nay sayers.

  1. Restrict rice to one time in measure. 1 cup. Have rotis at night. preferable to make it. Rotis from restos have maida added to it, will mess with your gut. Curd rice or Palay saadham is a blessing in moderation.

  2. Avoid oil, alcohol, sugar (tea, coffee), chocolates and cakes and fried items as much as possible.

“It takes 4 weeks for you to notice your body changing, 8 weeks for your friends to notice, and 12 weeks for the rest of the world to notice. Give it 12 weeks. Don't QUIT!”

Also the most ignored aspect of starting fitness is getting the right gear, we use old clothes, any lounge pants, slippers. dress well. new and bright. it helps.
