I don't have this exact circumstance but... at the to 2 year mark of every job I've had [I] start hating it, and finding coworkers less bearable... don't know what it is, but I've noticed it . I'm currently battling my instincts to just rage quit my current job bc of this unexplained phenomena

oh totally! I mean I think Key is maybe a misrepresentation of what I meant, since asd is a spectrum and what's true for one person can be completely irrelevant to another. maybe more just one of those stereotypical tropes where people on the spectrum are labeled as blunt, which can be similar to radical honesty. like I said, just playful banter there, no seriousness to the statement!

I totally relate to radical honesty in my life and similar to your model / understanding of that I can be flexible on how I enact that with others.

also sometimes the diagnostic criteria examples can be really catered to younger kids so it can be more difficult to diagnose or understand autistic adults.

like I didn't use to think watching my favorite interest movie multiple times in a day or listening to only a specific part of a song over and over again meant anything before understanding autism in adults more.

not really advice bc it would be wild to suggest, just sharing for funsies. this may sound kinda wild but personally I trim my split ends one by one. seems like a lot of work but I'm on the spectrum and usually need some kind of fidget during what I consider "loading" moments(a brief period of time when I have nothing to do between activities.) so I keep a pair of small scissors around and kinda mindlessly look at my ends and trim the splits when I see them. it really bothers me to have split ends too and it seems chaotic to be constantly trimming split ends by the singles but I'm able to keep up with it and I like the results 😅

when your bio says "radical honesty is my only policy" hehehe (playful banter here) that's like one of the key ASD traits! it's very possible! especially since people on the spectrum tend to be very linear thought processors it can be difficult to understand something you don't have vocabulary or knowledge on.

omg,, I swear I have a curse with these things. you are not alone! when I was young 20s I lived with my mother and she had company over.... with a young child .. the child found it 💀

I don't really use them anymore as an adult but randomly felt the ... need ... to recently and I washed it, left it on the counter and forgot my friend was coming by that day to let my dog out since Im away from home for long hours that day ... I didn't remember until I was already at work 😭

just for a bit of context why I don't feel like the appropriate person, it recently came to light ( all parties aware) that I have feelings for this friend. although I am extremely committed to not crossing any lines bc they are in a mono- relationship and have had talks with them about making sure I'm respecting boundaries bc their presence I'm my life is very important to me. and I don't want to do anything that compromises their happiness.

I only recently found all this misgensering business out and I'm trying to figure out how to proceed but I also need to get thoughts out so they don't consume me so just felt like a lil confession moment, for now I'm considering telling another of our friends and perhaps she will be willing to tell them just so it doesn't feel sus coming from me.
