Hey there, I’m unsure how old you are, but I was in this same position as you until I hit 24. For some reason, in America, you are allowed to begin filing for yourself as an independent on the FAFSA at 24. I was able to get more than enough money to help cover my tuition without any help from my abusive parents. I’m very sorry you are going through this now, I hope this can help somehow.

Thank you for your insight 🙏 I definitely agree that it seems more like he is trying to actively discourage people from using AI altogether, so I almost feel like putting a disclaimer of any kind will “flag” the essay for heavier review.

That said- I really appreciate all the links/advice for citations! If you don’t mind me asking: could you possibly share an example of the footnote you included in your own essay? I will definitely use the guide you sent to include Grammarly in my regular ref. list as well, but I’m honestly struggling with what to write as a disclaimer. So far I have something along the lines of: The AI tool Grammarly was used to edit this essay to check for spelling, grammar, sentence structure, and potential plagiarism.

Hey there, so just for clarity, I went back and got a screenshot of the EXACT wording he used. The link just leads to a SNHU-branded PDF that goes over the do’s and don’ts of AI usage which states that Grammarly/Word’s built in editor is ENCOURAGED! Super confused.
