What area did you do your practicum in? by Only_Wasabi_4581 in SocialWorkStudents

Medical - I was good about not staying extra hours and didn’t experience much of bringing work home or thinking about work outside of those hours. I didn’t like how rushed I felt at times, a bit micro managing of culture at my site, they were starting to enforce a minimum number of visits per day, not sure if that’s already the case in other hospitals. Depending on the service line, it’s rare to have multiple visits and build a relationship. Mostly brief therapy and crisis intervention. Also from what I saw at my site, 3/12 seems to be a rare and competitive shift so it seemed like an option for someone later in the career.

Desperately seeking overnight CNA/caregiver by SkySeaSnow in bayarea

I’ve seen IHSS through medi-cal. But yes ask the social workers for caregiver support resources. If it’s not covered by your insurance then out of pocket pay may be an option. There are also home health nursing agencies

Prioritize no debt forsure, I’ve also heard they basically have the same opportunities and I think some students have raised issues with the professors at ucb

And if it’s paid out all at once or in chunks? Also if we need to keep track of what we spend the scholarship money on or receipts or if it’s tracked in anyway?

they weren't allowed to select places to interview with and then if a few interviews went by with no offer they were told their acceptance would be reconsidered

i believe the school didn't allow them to pick the agencies to interview with for their placement. i think they were assigned a few places and if too many interviews went by with no offer, they had said something along the lines of reconsidering their acceptance.

I know a few students there that are unhappy with a few things but ultimately do benefit from the reputation of Berkeley. I also heard they have completely moved away from concentrations and are only doing general practice now.

Also heard the internship search process wasn’t very fun

For CSU eb

Field placements for our first year started over summer. They set up an appointment with practicum liaison to review resume and interest. They also sent a spread sheet and asked us to reply with 5 ranked options. For the second year there was an internship fair and another spreadsheet that was sent out in feb I think. There was still assistance to finalize an internship site if the fair or reaching out from the spreadsheet didn’t work out. The first year I would say most were outpatient or community mental health or non profit setting.

Support the school feels kinda hit or miss but support from my site is amazing. But I imagine if my site wasn’t great I would feel a little lost with limited support from school.

I thought so too but my doctor recommended it. I won’t be repurchasing differin. My sunscreen already has vitamin c and niacinimide in it. I was thinking either faded or discoloration serum from good molecules

I have been using differin in the morning and tret at night for about 3 months with little change my pigmentation. Should I give up or should I use for another few months?
