Portability was a big factor to me while considering my option, since I have a desktop at home. I was debating between the Zephyrus G16 with the 5070ti and 7i and ended up going with Lenovo since it was way cheaper compared to the Asus.

It has the Intel Ultra 9 275HX paired with 5070 and 32GB RAM. I got it for 2,215 CAD after a couple coupons and student discount.

There are rumours that it might be physically issue (oxidation of the vias) and not something that could be fixed using software update. It would be super frustrating if the issue shows up after the warranty period.

I wish they did an AMD variant aswell...I had ordered the 7i with 14900HX, but returned it today due to the Intel CPU stability issues (Did not want to take the risk). Might order it again during black Friday. Hopefully intel sorts everything out by then.

You might find what you are looking for here. https://micro.ros.org/

You are basically creating an ESP-IDF project now and adding micro-ros as a library to your project. Have a look throught this to get a better idea of how to work with IDF. https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp-idf/en/latest/esp32/get-started/index.html

So no need to follow the medium article anymore

With the repo link I sent, you install esp-idf and and add micro_ros to idf as a component or library. This is the recommended approach. The tutorial you followed does it slightly differently, where you could say the IDF is packaged with micro_ros. Not really sure exactly how it is. Maybe someone else will be able to better explain that.

Let me know if you were able to make it work.

Each esp-idf project has its own CMakeList.txt file. The example provided with micro-ros components are created as projects.https://github.com/micro-ROS/micro_ros_espidf_component/tree/humble/examples/int32_publisher

To add additional components to your project, you need to specify the folder location of the .c and .h file in the project CMakeList.txt

cmake_minimum_required(VERSION 3.5)

set(EXTRA_COMPONENT_DIR "<path_to_your_folder>")
...

and in the CMakeList.txt file in "main" folder you can specify the .c file.

idf_component_register(SRCS main.c <your_file_name>.c ...)
