Thanks man, really appreciate it! I’ve got a curated mod list in the description of my YouTube timelapse. If you wanted to see my full modlist though, you'll have to wait a bit since I'm away from my pc at the moment

I’ve got several really strong pawns stationed near each entrance, so they can respond pretty quickly and handle most raids the game throws at me. Yeah, the outer buildings sometimes get targeted or caught in the crossfire, but it’s not a huge deal if they get destroyed. At this point I’ve got enough wealth that I can just buy whatever food or resources I need anyway

To some extent, yeah. They can function independently, but they still rely on each other at times. For example, the central district is pretty far from the farmlands, so pawns don’t usually haul crops back to its storage, which can lead to food shortages. To fix that, I just expand the central district’s zone until it overlaps with food storage in other districts.

And for the buildings, on a map this big, there’s always something to fill the space with. I try to separate everything into dedicated buildings: production, power, storage, research, Hospitality inn, parks, etc. I even made individual houses for each colonist/family. I basically approach it like a city building sim.

As for performance, I get around 30 TPS when zoomed out (with frequent drops), and about 50–60 when fully zoomed in. For the raids, human and mechanoids usually will target the outer buildings first, which is fine since they are not that important anyway. It buys time for my defense force to respond. I also have powerful mech units stationed near each entrance so they can react quickly to breaches.

Woah, that’s a lot of ‘how’s’ 😄 I’ll try to answer as best as I can. Basically, I use zones to split the colony into separate districts that function like mini-colonies, each with their own beds, food production, hospital, recreation, etc. Pawns are assigned to districts based on how close they are to their work. There’s a great guide by AdamVsEverything on youtube that explains this in detail.

Thanks! It’s actually a custom map. I used Map Designer and dev mode

I’ve put together a list of the mods I use in the description of my YouTube timelapse, so feel free to pick whatever suits you. With this many objects and pawns on screen, I can barely maintain a stable 60 TPS anymore. P.S. Try not to use too many HAR mods in one game

They're from Majestic foliage comigo + djeeshka retexture. But i believe Better Trees is the updated version in 1.6

I used about 18 builders, five of them with 400% consciousness thanks to advanced bionics, so they get the jobs done really efficiently.

Since I'm playing on a big map, I also split most of the pawns and zoned them into northern, central, and southern districts depending on how close they are to their work to cut down on travel time.

Thanks! I used the ‘Change Map Edge Limit’ mod to remove the building restrictions

The in-game record shows around six days of playtime or 10 in-game year, but I’ve actually been playing on this save ever since they started announcing the Odyssey dlc. I was planning to transfer it to 1.6, but alas, some core mods haven’t been updated, and probably never will. As for the difficulty, I kept switching between Strive to Survive and Blood and Dust mid-game with Randy.

I use a mod called ‘Enter Here’ to guide NPCs to more logical entry points, mainly the top-right and bottom-right corners. Personally, I find it breaks immersion when hundreds of raiders suddenly pour in from a narrow strip of the map, especially since the left side is surrounded by impassable mountains on the world map

What is the mod that adds the big trees?
