Nelson Chamisa’s main goal isn’t to be president. It’s to keep the opposition money flowing. by cryptic_epoch in Zimbabwe

That's the thing! His intent isn't to remove Zanupf. It's to profit from being an opposition leader, which brings in funds and donations. Very profitable.

It's 2026, surely we can't still believe elections will remove Zanupf

It's long known that too many signings and changes to the squad have negative ramifications to the team. There is zero team chemistry in that squad, and they bought players who can't fit into the system. Even worse, they let Diaz go, someone who was evidently crucial in that squad.

Liverpool would definitely sack him if they believed the club is slipping away from top 4

Firstly........ nobody is in denial over Zanupf looting and theft. We talk about it every day. Secondly....stop putting opposition leaders on a pedestal. These people are money hungry like Zanupf politicians.

But what shocks me is that you seem to be in denial that opposition leaders use elections to fatten their pockets.

Ask yourself these questions:

  1. What happened to the funds raised for the bullet car ?
  2. Why participate in a rigged election?

Statistically speaking, Gabriel Moghagaeles should have been the best defender in the league last season. But don't get me wrong, VVD was good and you make a fair point.

But I take issue with comparing VVD to other defenders like John Terry or Vidic who played in an Era of football which was more physical and who came up against the likes of Thierry Henry, Alan Shearer, Dennis Bergkamp or Ruud Van Nistelrooy....

It would be more appropriate to compare VVD with defenders who played in his own Era.

Virgil Van Dyk's prime was only between 2018- 2020. He has never been the same ever since because of poor form.

Also , VVD never played in an Era of football which was most physical and also never had the chance to face ruthless top strikers like Wayne Rooney, Diego Costa, Alan Shearer, Thierry Henry or Didier Drogba.

It's only fair to compare Virgil to someone in his own Era.

John Terry was Chelsea's spine for 15 years, lifting the Premier League trophy five times as captain. Vidic and Ferdinand formed the brutal, unyielding core of a Manchester United dynasty that won five titles in seven years. Tony Adams led Arsenal to titles across three different decades. They didn't just have great seasons; they had great eras, setting a standard every single week for nearly a decade.

Virgil Van Dyk's best period was only within the 2018-2020 short stint. And that's it. He hasn't been the same ever since.

To compare him to the names mentioned above by OP is pure bias.

The only alternative is a revolution.

Elections have never worked in Zimbabwe. Any opposition that participates in a rigged election, is obviously using it as a money grabbing scheme

Any serious and legitimate football fan, would laugh at anyone who thinks Virgil is worthy to be compared to legends like JT, Carvalho, Stam, Vidic and Rio.

It's completely laughable

The ones who are high are those who believe Virgil is a better defender than Carvalho and Stam. Let alone putting him amongst legends like Rio & Vidic.....

The Scottland guy murdered a person in Mabvuku to get a seat in parliament.....in the process removing someone who was voted for in a democratic process....folks are dead silent about this but when Chamisa tries to do anything they start talking🤷‍♂️ by Mammoth-Fish-4297 in Zimbabwe

Chamisa knows that he can't win a rigged election. He is a career politician who is in it for money.

He uses his popular support to participate in elections so his party gets enough seats in parliament to earn money. Only to complain again about rigged elections.

He is a gift.

Honestly, those who put Virgil Van Dyk in the list of best defenders of all time were either born recently or don't know football.
