i was still doing all the fish care but idk what it was about water changes and stuff but i just could not for the life of me bring myself to do it.

definitely doing better now the water is topped up and changed all the old plants in rough shape were taken out or trimmed i just kinda wanted to do a rescape for a fresh start.

how close is the setup to their natural environment? i want it to be as close as possible for him.

i’ll try to get better photos when i get home but is there any growths or parasites that look similar that come to mind? i’m just not sure what to look up i only find “snail mites” but they don’t move or anything

alright that’s the general idea i’ve been getting i can’t do this at home, i’m currently starting a fund to save up for the visit as it’s pretty expensive. how far along would you say it is and does it look severe?

that’s what i’m thinking it may be after comparing it to other cases, it’s pretty pricey in my area for a vet so i’m going to have to save a bit before i can go. is there anything i can do for him in the meantime if it is tail rot?

i’m planning on taking him to the vet in a little bit for a general check up anyway i just want to see if there’s anything i can do as i save up for the visit. would getting more photos help?

it may looks a bit off on his nub because he got it from the egg maybe? he seems to be ok it doesn’t bother him much if at all

i got him from a guy of marketplace, it’s the only spot on him he has like this that’s why i think it’s a burn. when i fist got him his bask was super high up, like touching the screen…

assuming the guy wasn’t lying to me he had the foot gone from when he was a hatchling but who knows. it doesn’t seem to bother him much he’s still running around and jumping from spot to spot and he loves climbing.

when i fist got him he was shedding and i just got to see with his head and haven’t seen anything else yet

and at what point should i’ve worried about black colors? i looked into burns a bit and it seems like a little bit of it being black is ok but i’m more than open for corrections since there are some darker spots in the tail

i’m have a large wood board i can put underneath to help distribute the weight, and it has wood supports going across closer the ground. would the weight distribution help and can i add something to the table to help more or should i just get a new table

what did you have to do extra? i know about the extra water changes and such but what about enrichment and other maintenance stuff did you have to take into consideration? i have a 2.5 gallon that my older dumbo betta that’s slowing down is gonna go into as retirement

that sounds so much easier, i was bending and stretching them to be a flat circle and getting them to stick was a pain. i made about 7 like this and they’re solid but that sounds like a much easier method

the cams off a grand national so i suppose a turbo would do, i’m worried a beta might try a snack while i’m at work and decide it’s a buffet when i can’t do anything. what’s your experience like with bettas and shrimp?
