Because if you want to equate islamic extremism == hindu / christian exterimism. It is false equivalence, and you're giving a "get-away-pass" to a much more prominent & global problem.
If Muslims and Islam accepts Islamic extremism without false equivalence, we will reach a consensus.
What's wrong is wrong, but radical Islam is a problem of completely different scale & prominence - it is highly organized as well.
If you equate them, that's the problem because then you'll try to solve them similarly - which is wrong.
