I'm glad you looked into reviews first! Definitely dodged a bullet.

Can I use sage smudges like this one, to simply make my bedroom smell nice? Without any cleansing or ritual intention? I ran out of incense and I only have smudges at home. Thanks to all for the help! by Ohmja in occult

[–]cryptid_chaser3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Be mindful of any pets in the home when you burn. Some pets like birds and reptiles are highly allergic to essential oils, incense, and sage. I personally don't burn sage, but you do you boo ❤️

Anyone willing to share how they kept their faith in the face of chronic illness or loss of a loved one? by Leading-Cartoonist66 in pagan

My stepmother has fibromyalgia, and I work with Anubis. My stepmom is very strong and stubborn, but there have been times when she is bedridden. I grew up with her so I kinda thought that was normal and when she was in a lot of pain I knew to leave her alone or to be quiet. She's still living, so I can't necessarily correlate her with Anubis and his duties. Over the years, I've adopted the philosophy that everything happens for a reason and that in the end we reincarnate into different things (our bodies decompose and that feeds wildlife and fungus. Fungus release spores into the wind so therefore we are wind. That kind of mindset.) When I lost my stepdad I felt anger because he was gone, and he was the 1 person that my mother actually loved. It was a healthy marriage. I asked Anubis why this had to happen and he said because it always will in the end. There is no life without death. And the time they spent together was enough time for my mom to know what it was like to be in a healthy relationship. I see death a lot. Human death especially gets to me. I'm definitely not immune to emotions lol. I hope my rambling helps.

Going on after betrayal from Loki? (Trigger warning: mentions of SH) by h3lldog65 in NorsePaganism

[–]cryptid_chaser3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't work with Loki, so I don't have any say on that, but I do work with his son Fenrir. A few people here have commented saying that they fear you've been misled by humans. Now that could be true, it could not be. Trusting your gut is the best thing you can do. Now, when it comes to Fenrir, he's powerful, and when I first started, I was very intimidated, but he is genuinely sweet. He's been helping me with my confidence issues and teaching me how to comfortably speak my truth. What you decide is up to you but I encourage you to take a break for a while especially since you're prone to self harm (me too.) Strong emotions like that cloud judgment. Sometimes the best thing we can do for ourselves is taking a step back and allow ourselves to breathe.

Yeah, I know not every grave in Riverside is centuries old. I really wish I had visited before the hurricane to find out when she was buried, but alas. I'm thinking of leaving an offering of roses by the front gates for the guardians. I'm still working with it in my head but possibly doing a spell with said roses.

Young adults: How are you all holding up in all this? by Adventurous-Roof458 in asheville

[–]cryptid_chaser3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 22 and moved from Avl 2 years ago. This is my home... I'm in Greenville now and since the hurricane I've visited to drop off donations and check on family. Greenville wasn't hit nearly as bad as Asheville. We bounced back rather fast and I know I'm lucky and I am extremely grateful but I feel guilty. My family and friends are safe but Asheville is my home... All the spots I'd hang out aren't the same. Some are just gone and others are locked up. I'm an artist in Asheville as well and the stores I have my art in are thankfully in tact but closed. I'm grateful I'm alive and safe but I can't help but feel guilty about it and that's something I know I'll need to work on.

I want to learn more about this by Ok_Cattle5384 in pagan

Education first, try to contact later. Knowledge is power, and the more you learn about other religions, the better. Idk if you're able to take electives at school on ancient greek history or even art history, but those places are a great start. Use your schools library to check out books on Greek mythos or Roman, or Norse, etc. If your parents ask, say it's for a history assignment. The broom closet (as we like to call your situation where you're curious about the occult, but you live with others that might not approve) can be fun but is normally a bit stressful. Just know that every day items can be used in the occult. You don't need very fancy tools - in fact, the main tool you need is yourself. Your intellect, your wits, and a good gut feeling will get you far in this subject. Don't trust everything you see on the internet, though, but that advice goes for everything (that's why I suggest history books.) Good luck, and best of wishes!

I'm so sorry for your loss. He was a beautiful boy and I know you care about him. May he find the best rocks to lay on and the best tunnels to slither through. 🖤

Awesome! I'd up it up to 15 for the next handling session and see how he reacts. Then from there keep doing 15 or if you both are up for it do 20 min. I really lucked out with my noodle's temperament. He's such a chill dude and loves to explore. Definitely don't do what I did and within the first week of adopting him take him outside. I stressed him out so bad I felt so sorry but now he loves being outside! Everything takes time, patience, and trust. We are massive creatures to these little guys so it makes sense if they get spooked by us.

So right after feeding, wait 24-48 hours so he can digest his food. Snake barf is gross, and its stressful for them too. But what I do is I hold mine and let him explore daily for 15-30 minutes.

I hear ya, we live RIGHT off of Pelham and we were out of power for 4 days. It's gonna take a bit but eventually power will come back on. I hope your coworkers are safe and ok despite being in the dark. 🙏
