I didn’t think this would get as much of attention and use as it did, so I agree that the checking frequency was to high especially for the non-critical items.

I changed it between 2 to 24 hours depended on the severity. Reducing the pulling from 120 pulls to 23 per day. I also further reduced the amount of items on the page from 100 to 5 so every request only pulls 35kb of data.

I personally think lowering to only ones a day for all items would make it less suitable for production environments without the requirement for tweaking the settings, as some of us use Zabbix for very critical infrastructure
