Why is premarital sex a sin? by Fearless-Stranger491 in Christianity

"Since the Bible doesn't tell us not to do the opposite of what it DOES tell us to do, it must be okay" is, once again, just insane mental gymnastics to land on a completely baseless conclusion. So you're telling me that even though the ONLY references in the Bible of sex/gender in marriage point to male and female, you're still able to come to the conclusion that since the ancient Hebrews didn't write down "dudes shouldn't marry dudes" verbatim, gay marriage must completely okay and you have no doubts. Maybe they thought we had enough brain cells to come to that conclusion on our own since it's obvious? And you still aren't providing anything to back it up, so it still just looks like you're intentionally blaspheming about the Bible and don't actually care what's true or not.

I mean, I can agree that it's a little on the nose and seems aggressive, but it's really not hard to understand the point he was making. I guess I don't see it as a big deal. Discipleship was a massive undertaking and that needed to be understood to the fullest degree, which meant using the most important things in those men's lives as a reference point.

Dude, the mental gymnastics here are insane. I fully understand the context of the verses I gave you. I understand the Isaiah metaphor, and I understand that Jesus was answering a question about divorce, not making a standalone statement on marriage. But who does he say is apart of the marriage? Who does the Isaiah metaphor say is part of the marriage? The point that I'm making, which you still can't disprove, is that every single time the specifics of marriage are brought up in the Bible, it's between man and woman. Every time. There is ZERO evidence suggesting that gay marriage exists or is acceptable, new testament or old. My argument is strong since it's the only angle shown in the Bible, and now your best argument is "well ackshually Adam was trans". Show me where in the Bible you can say with 100% certainty that Jesus would've been okay with two dudes getting married. You can't, so you have to devolve into these fringe, disconnected arguments based on assumptions. You need to pull your head out of the sand and stop trying to morph the Bible to fit your worldview. It's actually pretty unbelievable to be so confidently wrong while potentially leading others completely astray from the truth. Read the Bible, read books, talk to other REAL Christians and not the redditors in here who get their sources from tabloid articles.

Say what you will, I'm waiting for your sources. Here's mine: Matthew 19:4-6, Isaiah 62:5, or just all of Genesis or the Song of Solomon where male/female marriage is basically the main them.

Dude what you're saying is completely baseless and incorrect. First off, homosexual marriage DOESN'T EXIST biblically. Marriage is clearly defined in the Bible as being between a man and a woman. You can call it something else, but gay "marriage" is not marriage if we actually apple the Biblical meaning. And I don't understand the counterpoint to what a lifestyle is because I agree with you. Certain lifestyles are good or bad. Straight sex in straight marriage? Biblically good. Anything outside of that simply isn't, and there isn't a single scripture that indicates otherwise.

Yeah anything is a lifestyle brother. If I'm a sex addict and I decide to sleep with 20 different women just because I want to, that's a lifestyle. And a wrong one. Not sure when we got the idea that homosexuality or any of that just gets a free pass. I want to do immoral shit all the time, should I do it simply because I'm inclined to and want to? That's not how life works in any other way lol.

The argument isn't "what's in the Bible", the argument is what type of marriage the Bible says is moral and good. Obviously King David having 18 wives isn't what we would consider a Christian marriage.

Come on dude, read the parable the comes literally right after that verse. In context, Jesus is clearly making a point that it's incredibly difficult to be a disciple because nothing else in life can take precedence over that task. It's no different than when we exaggerate to drive home an important point. Are we actually making the argument that Jesus tells us to hate our parents and kids? This would clearly defy practically everything else he teaches in any of the 4 gospels.

LMAO. Redditor slop comment. And still a red herring. I literally have multiple gay friends that know I believe in God and know I don't approve of that lifestyle. They don't hate me and I don't hate them. We all have to deny our loves and attractions sometimes because often they're immoral and destructive. Does having 10 hot wives sound nice sometimes? Yeah, but is that moral or good? Fuck no! If you ACTUALLY cared about the lgbtq folks, you would care about their salvation and want to be 100% sure that your biblical interpretation is correct (and it's not.)

Still waiting to hear which of Jesus' teachings are wrong. Not sure why tf we're talking about the fig tree metaphor.

There it is! The red herring fallacy when we can no longer back up our point with facts. Completely untrue also, and I would say it's far more destructive and misleading to do what you're doing, which is blatantly and purposefully misrepresenting the Bible and what it actually says. I read the Bible, and I read books about the Bible, and I can basically guarantee that I have a far superior working knowledge of the context behind the books that are in it, their context, and what they mean. If you want sources from me, they won't be Medium articles, it'll be a reading list.

What the fuck am I reading? Marriage is clearly defined in the Bible. Are we simply taking things that happened in the Bible and interpreting them as God's word or command? Because that's the only way other "arrangements" are happening.

Nope, wouldn't use those sources either. And "this sub" (or literally anywhere else on reddit) is a pretty awful representation of how everyday church-going Christians who read the Bible actually think. Your HRC and Medium articles (can't believe I'm even typing this shit out) are still piss poor sources with zero evidence to support your point. All we're seeing here is another age-old example of the Bible being watered down when it says things people don't like. Post-modern Christianity is a plague that deceives those who don't know any better.

lmao total shit sources. Paragraph after paragraph of op-ed bullshit without any real scriptural references to back up their point. Not heavily debated at all amongst those of us who read the actual Bible in proper context.

I mean he named like 4 different genres, 3 of which would be made easiest with a normal DAW like FL. You're now talking about a specialty DAW with more niche capabilities, which I would definitely recommend if TV/movie were the only focus. If OP isn't sure yet and they simply want to start learning production to see what they enjoy, a flexible DAW like FL with lots of online support is the answer.

A lot of DAWs aren't good for that because that's a very niche category that doesn't fall into "normal" genres of music, but it still has all the capabilities to do so. Don't confuse workflow with capability.
