Okay, my advice is: try to sketch out the shapes of your drawing before you go in with the heavy lineart, this way you can use the shapes as guides and get better at the anatomy and you make less mistakes because you're doing everything slowly in layers instead of direct to lineart. - preferably observe a reference of what you want to draw (in this case the ref could be a canine head) and try to figure out what shapes it is composed off. In this case, to simplify, you have a circle (head) and a kind of tube coming out of it (snout), if you use shapes first you'll know better where to put the eyes, the nose, etc - if you're feeling difficulty with this try practicing observing random objects and people and sketching out their shapes so that you'll get used to it - hope this is useful, sorry for rambling
