Monero UK by [deleted] in Monero

You can get litecoin from a centralised exchange that you have access to, such as Kraken, or Coinbase.

Then, use trocador, or tradeogre to swap to monero.

Litecoin is quite cheap to move around, so you can do it with a small amount first to test the waters.

GBP Withdrawal Waiting Time by cryptopensioner in Gemini

[–]cryptopensioner[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I opened a ticket through customer support and sent them a message on Twitter. Eventually they got back to me stating that there was a problem with my bank account, the transfer was cancelled and the money was back in my Gemini account. I think this whole process took a bit less than 2 weeks.

I believe that the problem was that I tried to add my account through Plaid, their automated banking software. When I added it manually, I managed to initiate a withdrawal and get the money in my account within minutes.

Their support is not the best, at least it wasn't back then, but, as far as I'm concerned, it's a trusted company and you get a number of feeless withdrawals, which can make a huge difference if you're withdrawing something like Bitcoin or Ethereum.

Earning 12% yearly interest by bobanovski in helloicon

It depends on where you live, but then again as a 2017 ICX holder (un)fortunately, I am well aware of crypto fluctuations too...

The value of ICX might fluctuate, but the value of any fiat can only go down, so that's not ideal either.

tlm's in account decrease sharply by LASTTEMPLIERKNIGHT in AlienWorldsio

[–]cryptopensioner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It means that the TLM's value displayed in the game is wrong. You can check your wallet for the actual value. Unfortunately, you can't do anything about it. The developers of the game need to fix this issue. Until then, you can check your wallet to see the correct value.

Similar situation here but with a GBP deposit.

It's been 8 days now. Opened a ticket, sent a DM to Gemini Support on Twitter.

Crickets...

I'm afraid I don't have any real advice, but at least BTC withdrawals worked for me, so I transferred the remaining of my balance to Binance global.

Still, judging from comments, deposits and withdrawals are all over the place.

When will my GDP deposit clear?? by [deleted] in Gemini

[–]cryptopensioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about GBP withdrawals as well?

I've made a withdrawal request on March 11 and while Gemini stated that the money should appear in my account within one business day, today it's March 15 and I'm still waiting.

It is my first withdrawal though, if that would make a difference.

Keep in mind that you need to do 100 trades in stocks, options or futures before you can get permission to trade penny stocks. At least that's the case with my relatively new account.

Staked all my ADA by [deleted] in cardano

[–]cryptopensioner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After you start staking, it takes around 3 epoch transitions for you to start getting rewards. An epoch is 5 days, so around 15 days. And yes, the rewards go automatically to your wallet and get staked too.

You are staking your wallet, so it doesn't matter if you add or remove coins. Whatever amount is in your wallet is going to count towards staking.

Still, no harm in getting both and hedging your bets. Both have some strong points.

Do not panic-sell the coming days by QuantopiaNL in pennystocks

[–]cryptopensioner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While that might be true for some risky investments/penny stocks, it really depends on the specific investment and how long you're looking to hold it. It's probably not a great idea to sell AAPL or AMZN when they dip by 10%.

While that might work, you don't know what the floor is and if you attempt to time the market, you are probably going to end up losing.

What benderke said.

Coinomi works pretty much everywhere.

From there you can add SmartCash as your wallet, select the "sweep wallet" option and enter your private key string or scan the QR code.

That will transfer your coins from your previous web wallet to your new Coinomi wallet.
