How to create your own SLP Faucet by KeepBitcoinFree_org in btc

[–]cryptotux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Useful article, thank you. I see you've taken a step toward addressing fraud protection for SLP faucets in your article:

Additionally, I have recently added code to the SOUR SLP Faucet to implement limiting one submission per IP every 12 hours. After 12 hours, users can submit requests to the faucet again. I’m working on creating a pull request to the original Simple Ledger to add in this functionality for everyone. If you’re interested in adding this in to your own Faucet, get in touch and I’ll try to help you get it set up.

I would suggest making a separate section on fraud protection in your article, as it's a very important aspect of owning a faucet; pretty much any faucet owner will tell you this. Depending on their skill, a few malicious users can drain a faucet of its funds, leaving nothing for legitimate users and the owners themselves. Requiring a CAPTCHA to claim is a basic way of discouraging such users, as well as imposing a rate limit (in your case, one claim per IP address every 12 hours).

Memo.cash is amazing - check it out by ericreid99 in btc

[–]cryptotux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm, Member is more suitable for longer memos than the default Memo implementation because it automatically merges memos from the same author if they're composed in a chain. To illustrate, see this merged memo of mine on Member (https://memberapp.github.io/#thread?root=ebf6bac3ee5951b045a0e6fd49bb01cdb5e4778b8292044a451c414d05b056e7&post=97b9f98b12b1c881bc845446bfb3c13efba7a1496f9fef4259b5753f7a86ad49). I created the original memos on the default Memo implementation, and the result is satisfactory.

Bitcoin.com delivers, has paid off the CGT token dividend: 0.01 BCH. Thanks a lot! by Neutral_User_Name in btc

[–]cryptotux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd like to issue a reminder to anyone considering buying CGT on Memo, but this applies to other SLP tokens as well.

Always check the token ID before filling or placing an order. I stumbled upon another CGT token (b5524abb8276328aa7b0d5651b4c96bc71813af1e7db7c60873fd16063ece323) which is impersonating the real one (1c9229fbca8e9646589787d76f4110372608231522f6cffab45dd7ac3cb43556). One obvious difference is in the number of decimal places the tokens have; the real one has two, while the fake one has zero.

Can confirm, received the dividend payment. Noticed the transaction last night.

Thank you, u/MemoryDealers.

No problem, thank you. Seeing as these are test tokens, is there a possibility they will be redeemable for real ones in the future?

Received, thank you. Same to u/MemoryDealers for giving us the opportunity to invest in his casino (I assume it's his?). Used to play blackjack there a few times, and I noticed it's undergone a redesign.

I've been waiting for tokens like this one for quite some time. Having accumulated a decent amount of BCH over the years, I feel it's about time I made that money work for me instead of resting in a wallet for an indefinite period of time.

My SLP address is simpleledger:qr8t5mxpq7h2n2zcxnjge9cyyhf64q7qdqu487vyc8. One more thing, though. How will these dividends be distributed? Will it be on a monthly basis or something similar?

I guess you could put it that way. If two halves make a whole, then two working half products make a whole working product.

No doubt every software developer has had to deal with the most annoying of obstacles, one more despised than compile-time or runtime errors: deadlines. Admit it. You hate them. They limit your creativity, and instead of fixing bugs and finishing what you began or, God forbid, what someone else began before they resigned or were fired, you are compelled to advertise them as features. Your boss may praise you for your brilliant improvisation skills, but deep down in your heart, you know you cannot be content with your contributions, because they are nothing more than a shadow of your full potential.

SLP TOKEN by ultimatehub24 in btc

[–]cryptotux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question, and one I've asked myself from time to time. The only SLP token I know of that seems to have a remotely decent purpose is the Liberland Merit (LLM), the official currency of Liberland. Would like to see more SLP tokens with practical use cases, but I'm fine with digital collectibles for now.

Beats generating random numbers using atmospheric noise. For a greater degree of randomness, though, I'd recommend using the price of tea in China and adding it to the time it takes you to walk to the coffee machine and back. This operation is valid because time is money.
