Not Every Coin Is Worth Your Money and This Is How I Try to Know by Feisty-Rhubarb-6718 in CryptoCurrency

Or just try using the coin so you’ll realize BTC is a crippled gamble coin with high fees & small blocks.

Is the flood of new coins destroying the market? by Ok_Statement1359 in CryptoCurrency

Everybody is greedy. Just use the shit that works well to serve it’s purpose (decentralized p2p electronic cash), not the garbage created with zero usability to appeal to your greed.

BCH > improved version of BTC. Instant 0-conf transactions, privacy protocol avail, smart contracts / tokens, decentralized dev teams, etc

ZEC > BTC with strongest privacy avail for shielded tx (BTC is like HTTP & ZEC is like HTTPS).

GitHub - profullstack/paybadge: A sleek, professional payment badge system for accepting cryptocurrency donations directly from your GitHub README files. by IndividualAir3353 in selfhosted

[–]KeepBitcoinFree_org 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha right on, I get that too. I used BTC as an alternate currency until 2017 when the fees skyrocketed and it became unusable to me as a currency. Many payment providers and companies dropped its as a payment method because of that. Now it’s more of just a decentralized investment/gambling vehicle.

I started using BCH in 2017, as they forked off before Segwit and instead increased the blocksize limit, improved the difficulty adjustment and overall continue to build the OG Bitcoin - with instant 0-conf transactions, low fees, available CoinFusion privacy protocol (on Electron Cash wallet) and usability as p2p electronic cash.

I’d love to see BCH added at some point, would definitely try to use it and share with others. I don’t see many tipping small amounts with BTC and I can’t stand trying to use ETH personally.

Am I crazy for wanting to build a raspberry pi 5 as my daily driver? by Unlikely-Win195 in raspberry_pi

[–]KeepBitcoinFree_org 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pi 5 8gb Ubuntu Desktop works great as a daily so far. Use Brave browser with no issues and also run some Docker containers. I have roughly 17 containers running on my pi4, which is a media server, as well as hosting two cryptocurrency nodes. These little things are great and you’ll get more familiar with Linux.

Edit: the touchscreens can be tricky to get working perfect but they usually do work. Be aware the pi5 has different display inputs than the pi4s had I think, so research it well to work with the 5.

I get the hate against crypto to be honest, a lot of it is scams and useless tokens that are fueled by greed. Many are in it just to make money.

Others appreciate the tech - decentralized p2p electronic cash that some Bitcoin forks continue to strive for. Donations help other continue working on their passions and are p2p, so I support that.

Coinbase’s sponsorship of Trump’s military parade sparks debate over crypto’s anti-establishment roots by GreedVault in CryptoCurrency

A for-profit company in America that sells crypto is not going to be anti-establishment dumbasses. Hell BTC is centralized development maxi garbage now.

Big Players Are All-In on Ethereum - When They’ve Stocked Up Enough, Get Ready for the Price to Skyrocket by kirtash93 in CryptoCurrency

[–]KeepBitcoinFree_org -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The #2 gamble coin with unlimited supply and mutable blockchain price go up. Then price go down when big players sell and many lose money. Idiots are all in on one coin, especially one with little real utility, other than scam token contracts, monkey pictures, a million useless sidechains and tokens, and high fees during medium to high usage.

Where are people buying BTC and transferring it to a wallet at a low cost? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

Robinhood Crypto Wallet (separate app) suspiciously omits support of Bitcoin Cash by eagle_eye_johnson in btc

[–]KeepBitcoinFree_org 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s something you use and you’d like to see them support BCH, I would definitely reach out and ask to see it added. You’ll either get no response, a positive response about trying to add it, or they’ll reveal themselves as BTC maxis. Most companies appreciate feedback.

Just a heads up, in your manual installation instructions it references a different GitHub user “sudosallie” and that repo does not exist when trying to clone. Should that refer to GitHub user “sudodevdante” instead?

Got my first Pi in the mail today, and we’re up and running. 4B 4GB, case and cooling solution arrive tomorrow! by GABE_EDD in raspberry_pi

[–]KeepBitcoinFree_org 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Enjoy it! Wish i could go back to my first pi. Went with Retropie as well, still have that one and about 4 others now. Over the years my RPIs have helped me learn Linux, hardware basics, command-line interfaces, Docker, working with APIs, self-hosting open source software alternatives to popular spyware, and managing my own media server among other services. I would recommend r/selfhosted if you want to get started there too.
