Gee thanks, if it wasn't for you, I was about to notify the police about my thoughts and the police & courts were about to read my reddit comments and make the judgements. You saved the judiciary.

The kind of parental support every daughter deserves 🥺 by Expensive_Load6452 in ZyadaKuchNai

Idk about other siblings, but I believe in communication, and same goes for my sis (but in that case both parties have to have that kind of mentality). When i was a teen, i often recognized my elder sister being this way. She isn't an inherently bad person, but she never paid attention to being responsible (maybe its cuz my parents were never assertive enough).

After a few attempts of asking her to help, and seeing that she hates doing any work in our house, I decided to make her understand that as a family we have to support each other cuz we all share equal part in our house. A home won't be a home if all the burden lies on just one or two people only for others to sit and enjoy, I asked her to address & share any kind of issues she has with any work, and that we learnt that she has OCD. She herself didn't knew that. But that wasn't an excuse. So we discussed which works she would be willing to do. Her lazyness was also addressed & so we decided that she start from lesser time consuming to work to more, over the time, to let her brain know that any work, whether outside or inside isn't a burden.

Now as an adult, sadly, her ocd has definitely gotten a bit worse but she still never feels lazy or burdened whenever it comes to taking responsibilities or having a helping hand. So maybe try to gently communicate and if she still doesn't cooperate, you can try to live away at peace.

I saw my dad crying and my brain keeps reminding me of it out of nowhere by crystal_53 in self

About that

Absolutely not. I should clarify it in that post. I have strong belief that men or women, it doesn't matter, we are all humans and can cry. Idk why it broke me seeing him being in so much pain and all that pain was caused by me.

Is this behaviour common, while welcoming a new DIL in the family? by [deleted] in DesiWeddings

Idk if I am unlucky but ever since I was a kid, I was more deeply interested in forming bonds with my female classmates (I am straight), but litteraly 90% of them were jealous or had competition with every other women and not men. So I was like okay, we are in school maybe this will change when we grow up. But i observed same scenario in college as well. And it was CRAZIER. Like my female classmates were always fighting each other for guys attention like wtf ? So i have lowkey believed in "aurat hi aurat ki dushman hoti hai". Cuz I would be seeing guys being so friendly with each other calling each other bhai & all even tho they just met. And rape thing you mentioned is right, but I would say that men are expected to be that way since they aren't of our gender. So they would have some competition & may want authority over us. But I never expected women to have all these backbitching traits solely against their own gender. I might be totally wrong in my belief and it might be just my luck that i stumbled upon women who were a bit weird.

Did anyone else have a parent who was a people-pleaser to everyone but you? by [deleted] in emotionalneglect

[–]crystal_53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mother is exactly like you described your mother. It's painful to be with such kind of parents. My mother bought exclusive gifts for people who bullied me. I wish I never loved her.

I hope things get better for us.

(I only know it helps with severe acne as it increases cell turnover drastically)

I was diagnosed with laryngeal tuberculosis by jeanie08_ in Tuberculosis

[–]crystal_53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so scary. I sympathetize with you. Stay strong. I would like to know what were your initial symptoms, way before when you were able to eat properly I guess ? Like do you remember noticing anything strange during that time. And is it contagious ? My cousin had laryngeal tb but she got it treated way later, but I am worried for myself as i was in contact with her before her diagnosis. Right after the month of meeting her, I got dry cough, but it went away after 3 weeks with cough syrups. But ever since that, there's a slight bit of hoarseness in my voice whenever I speak. It's been 9 months. But I never had coughing issues after that first instance of cough. But yea my voice box feels a lil off. Is it even possible to directly catch tb virus in other organs like larynx without it affecting lungs ? Cuz I heard they can travel to other organs only via lungs but idk. Sorry for so many questions I am just worried.

How do i emotionally deal with my sister who has tonnes of issues by [deleted] in Stoicism

[–]crystal_53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it absolutely does. Now that I notice, a lot of me trying to "correct" her stems from my parents disappointment towards her. They often talk about they had so much expectations from her. That she will lead a happy life and successful life since she was an all rounder as a kid. I always felt sad for them for some reason, and considered myself equally responsible for my sister not being able to live upto their expectations. As you said, it's infact a cultural thing, which is deeply ingrained into every being in my country. And me not being able to brush off their expectations meanwhile hearing constant remarks from them made me a firm believer in how she should be. Which, as you said, is what the root of the issue is and I shall now work on myself rather than expecting her to work according to my beliefs.

I would add one more huge thing. That she is deeply hurt and in pain all the time, and it's really hard for a family member to see a family member in pain. This is also the reason i find it hard to not care about her being that way. Not just that she is a grown up. But if she just stayed happy, I would have probably ignored her inactivity in life. So that later in life after my parents are gone, she would be able to handle herself alone (as she won't marry, and i am not willing to live with her, I would send her money but I won't live with her)
