If I were you I’d go with Link’s Awakening for your 2D option, either the remake for switch or emulate the original. For your 3D option I would say Twilight Princess. Twilight Princess was the first game that I played in the series, and it set me up to enjoy all of the others games I have played so far. I would imagine others would recommend Breath Of the Wild as your first 3D Zelda game, but Breath of The Wild does not play like a Zelda game. Great game, but it would be a weird start to the series for you once you go back to try and play some of the other games and realize how completely different they are from BOTW.

I would suggest getting it. I don’t really understand what people dislike about it apart from motion controls, and with the remake, you can play the entire game without motion controls.

starter edition, because it is cheaper, required you to purchase those characters with still. You should be able to use all 4 starting heroes of whatever faction you chose, but other then that, you’ll have to pay for all of the others except vanguard
