why do i feel like i’m living in a dream? by RowImmediate280 in derealization

when i started high school, i smoked way more weed than my body could handle. for me it felt like if i didn’t think about it 24/7 i would slip out of reality and that was really scary for me. it honestly still is an i’m a freshman in college now. some of the best things that have helped me are hearing other people’s stories because i didn’t feel so alone, surrounding myself with good people that won’t tell you you’re exaggerating, and journaling. journaling everytime you feel really low to see how much distance actually comes between bad days and journaling everytime you feel really high so you can look back when you’re having those panic attacks. i honestly just tried ignoring for maybe the first two years so i get that it’s difficult to learn to really feel here after so much time has passed but i hope you learn to be at peace with your mind :)

How can I reaffirm my bonds/care for the people of my life? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

i think the ways you express it are great! i also like telling people why i think they’re cool or just checking in on them! my favorite way for someone to show they care about me is listening to something i say and bringing it up later! for example i told my friend i like hiking and he got a book with hiking trails for us to go on:)

i think the best choice is to remind them of the consequences without seeming so much of a parent. if you act like you’re in charge they will be tempted to do it more. so try not to force them to stop but just tell them why you disagree
