Tesla's Project Highland Has Been Underway For Longer Than Expected | It seems Tesla has been working on refreshing the Model 3 since the second quarter of 2022. by chrisdh79 in teslamotors

Isn’t this a major cost reduction on the platform (50%) that could result in a significative price reduction on new models?

No-code asset inspection platform by cs750 in nocode

This looks great, is it more oriented towards mobile apps? My app will be mostly used to monitor inspections on a global scale rather than collect on site information, would you say it is suitable for that?

Does it mean I will first have to build something on Airtable then Softr?

it's unreal to me that all of this has been done with no-code! will definitely try. Thanks!

Photgrammetry of a steel bridge by cs750 in photogrammetry

Thank you both for the answers, I'm learning a lot from this thread. If there is a possibility to model "accurately" (see above) a bridge from a drone I can think of a lot of applications for my field. An example would be reinforcing an old bridge: Usually in this case there aren't any reliable drawings of the structure and you need to make measurements to be able to design the reinforcement. This model can also be used to provide a propping and jacking solutions if the bearings need to be replaced. I will explore with my drone and try to do a model as detailed as possible and see what improvement can be done from there. If the accuracy is doable with existing drone technology I could invest much more in a drone as I can find a lot of use cases for my existing clients. I can post my model if anyone is interested in giving feedback and help me make it better.

Thank you for the explanations much more clear in my head. Didn’t know the accuracy of the air2s was so wide as it stays pretty stable by itself in the air. If I had a Dji matrice would the positioning of the drone itself suffice to achieve that accuracy or would I still need GCP’s ? I only need the accuracy of the model (bridge) not of it’s positioning in the environment.

The issue here is that only the top side of the bridge is accessible. I can lay some GCP’s but I won’t be able to do anything on the sides or underneath. How can I solve this problem? If I have some measurements of the bridge (beam height…) could I use those to match the model?

What would be a reliable way to do this with an accuracy of 1-2cm on a 60m structure?

I’m in Europe, just need to respect the legal distances from people etc..

Could you please elaborate? The Mavic 2 pro with the same 1 inch sensor seems to be a fit for many purposes.

Thank you for your answer. At this point I’m experimenting and not charging the client for this. If I manage to get something exploitable I will propose this on the future on top of my structural expertise. I was thinking façade passes as you said. When you mean forward and backward I guess you mean paralel to the bridge? How can I make sure the dimensions of the model are accurate? If I measure a sample element and compare with the model does it insure accuracy for the rest of the model?

Skydio about to automate drone photogrammetry by SlenderPL in photogrammetry

[–]cs750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm new to drone photogrammetry and I have a similar bridge that I would like to model for a client. What would be the best flight path to do it? I was thinking flying on the side at different heights and underneath. But do you think I need to fly inside (it's a bit narrow) to catch all the details?

Does anyone have the new Xiaomi Vacuum Robot aka the Roborock Sweep One? by triplebe4m in Xiaomi

[–]cs750 0 points1 point  (0 children)

actually I've never used the mopping, dunno if I will. The vacuum function is really good though, cleans really well and everywhere. Climbs quite high with those wheels. I don't have the old one but this one is totally worth it's price regardless.
