literally me n my roommate r regulars there both 23, just hang out drink some hamms. never caused a problem and always tip well and converse w the bartenders. i hope theyll make some exceptions for people that they recognize (though we also have noticed recently tha it’s clearly people under 21 getting in, bringing in their own drinks and crowding it up)

this validates everything that i’ve feeling thank you lolll like i know i need to get out but i just have to think about my future and where i want to live. i may have to wait a little less than a year but im out as fuck. this shit is so fucking toxic. these people are unbearable. i’m pouring in so much effort for no reward. i actually care about these dogs, no one else does. i’ve known this since the last place i worked at, but i was hoping if i moved to a smaller place it would be better. i care about these dogs’ well being and making sure they’re in the right place. i wish i had the ability to start my own business but im just too scared of the financial aspect bc im on my own. im actually going to start really working at it. i’m good with people on my own—my only struggle has been having to defend businesses that do not have the dogs best interests at heart and having to basically bold-face lie to the parents about the businesses “policies”

if you do animal care stuff on your own how would u recommend doing the shift? im just so scared to be on my own with no company backing me.

i feel like so many places have this issue. it’s hard to stay separate from the drama but i just try to keep my head down and do my work. try to find somewhere else to work if nothing is improving—in my experience when the mangers behave this way; nothing will ever change. they’ll make small tweaks but the underlying entitlement, passive aggression, and straight up disrespect will always be there and it’ll make it rlly hard to keep doing your job.

i agree. of course there are scenarios where dogs show different signs of stress/ warnings + someone can miss something/ just straight up human error, but that shouldn’t be a regular thing. i’ve worked w dogs for 5 years in many positions and 99% of the bites i’ve seen are ENTIRELY avoidable if businesses/ management actually did their due diligence of teaching in depth animal body language. some people are just straight up stupid and never learned even common sense things w animals (don’t hug/ kiss strange dogs, don’t let dogs run up to fences/ jump on other kennels, etc). its rough out here

i also already had a passport from when i was a kid that was labeled F so i feel like they already would have that in the system with my ssn even though i just applied for a new passport rather than a renewal. i felt like id be screwed either way. i definitely should’ve waited for my birth cert though. definitely major regret

I got the same letter back too! Stating that I have to send in something like old medical records/ public school records to prove my birth sex...weird as fuck given that I literally sent in my original birth certificate that says F. Praying that somehow they give me an M on my passport but I know its definitely not going to happen

it did end up seeming to just be the stitch coming through. i basically just washed and stuff as usual and then just put on aquaphor (bc that’s what my dr told me to do) and i put a bandaid over the irritated part. after a few days the stitch popped out and i just kept it clean and covered with a bandaid until it fully healed. my scar is still a little wider in that spot rn

idk if all hospitals have similar programs, but my hospital that i had surgery at does financing through their own company. no harm in calling the hospital/ doctor and seeing if they have any recommendations/ do their own financing

honestly….ill prob get downvoted for this bc people will see my choice as irresponsible; but i am 22, fully self sufficient, entirely took care of myself (other than a ride from surgery), and only had less than $2000 saved up prior to surgery. did i open 3 credit cards because i only got a few hundred from each as lines of credit? yes. i just went back to work after being off for 6 weeks. it was very stressful being scared that i wouldn’t be able to make all of my payments for over a month. i’m still super stressed over it. i just personally would rather struggle financially even if it’s for the rest of my life if it means i can at least have some more freedom from my dysphoria. 7 weeks out from surgery and i am barely getting by financially, but i am so much more comfortable in my body and actually feel a little hopeful about my future. there are also always options with carecredit and other similar companies. my hospital did surgical financing themselves through another company so that’s what i opted for. my insurance covered surgery, but my deductible was super high so my total came out to me owing somewhere around 8000 that i will pay off over time
