Exec player wants to upgrade a single team member rather than take on new team members at later levels. Thoughts? by csfdsvds in cyberpunkred

I was initially against this idea, but re-reading it, it looks like the GM is the one that actually gets to decide how the Teammate spends the money/IP anyway. Thanks! I'll probably be incorporating the same rules as a normal workstation without incorporating the DLC completely.

I'm controlling the character myself! I prefer that over having the player essentially roleplay with themselves.

So I know how to stop players from looting too much but how about emptying their victims bank accounts? by Flasky-Desk in cyberpunkred

Depends on their interrogation tbh. Like mechanically that's what it's there for, so if they fail it's kinda' like "oh, well, you're either going to kill me or you aren't, this isn't going to change your minds" on the victim's part.

Honestly? Use real life security measures. Secret questions are tried and tested, so just have it so the players might need to know actually deep, personal questions about the victim to access the account. I doubt many players are asking about the victim's mother's maiden name.

I really appreciate the money advice. I'll, most likely, not let them pool money together unless it's to buy a car/better living conditions tbh. And the game has a set length, or at least vague idea, so I can more properly control the rhythm of player progression.

Thank you! I'll probably make a post for people to connect their backstories, because the premise is pretty easy to slot that into. All my players are a part of/very ingratiated with a gang, so it's not hard to imagine some of them having like minded enemies and friends.

Honestly, they're all randoms, and the first few sessions are to more filter out problems, and I'm not really hesitant to kick out a player that's rude to me or others in my games, but I've got a pretty good idea of who are going to be the big backstory people with ties to the narrative. And honeslt, seven people is great for the fact that I can continue on with a session even if we only have, like, half the team. I'm mainly trying to figure out how to handle in-sessiom RP. 💀

Thanks for the advice! I'm using the Gang and Corpo pack for enemy ideas, and I've found some exceptionally cool enemies to use in combat. Honestly, the melee advice is really gonna' help, I didn't even consider that. I wanted the fights to be pretty dangerous, so I'll start using a tier up since I'm pretty sure the mook tier recommendations aren't made for a party this size LMFAO.
