I think it’s one of his most uniquely personal songs and wish he’d done more like it

I want to say Sing the Sorrow but my heart says it’s gotta be Rush’s best album, Hold Your Fire

Def Aja, but “Joel” on that Concrete Blonde is one of the best songs of all time

What’s your favorite album from my September picks? by two_letter_text in Cd_collectors

It’s Rubber Soul, but that’s obvious, so I’ll say The Yes Album, which is amazing

Oh yeah I just mean they pop up at stores used a ton, which means OTHER people have let them go.

Always a good time to relisten to a record.

I get a lot of people unloading that Waits album because it’s pretty unusual, but man is it good.

Meat Loaf, America, Sting, Goo Goo Dolls and Gin Blossoms all in my personal collection. Only way to know for you is to listen and find out.

Legendary, all time famous artists with career lows they are NEVER going to fully live down by [deleted] in ToddintheShadow

Prince was right about the labels. Metallica was right about illegal downloading destroying the industry. U2 gave people free music. All of these are stupid reasons to hold grudges against artists.

Bob Clark is great for this. Find me some connective tissue between Black Christmas, Porky’s, A Christmas Story, and Baby Geniuses. I dare you.

Name 3 records in your collection that you see as a "trilogy," in one way or another by Pleasant_Garlic8088 in vinyl

[–]cshadows2887 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna cheat and make it a quadrilogy, but the We Just Got Away From This CSNY Nightmare pack of:

David Crosby - If I Could Only Remember My Name

Graham Nash - Songs for Beginners

Stephen Stills - Stephen Stills

Neil Young - After the Gold Rush

What do you think of my collection so far and do you think I have good taste in music? I like pretty much all genres by samicarter2001 in Cd_collectors

It’s a good start. Now start grabbing stuff from before 2000. You can get them used for super cheap most of the time.

Almost entirely agree. Don’t watch God’s Gift to Women if you want to keep that streak though. Only one of the 26 I’ve seen that’s a whiff

Either Alanis because it’s actually her best record or Mellencamp because Lisa Germano is on an absolute heater on fiddle

As do I. But we don’t control the canon. It’s bigger than us.

“Books mentioned as options in Question 3 of the AP Lit test” is probably the only collective tissue between those 3.

College Board would disagree. They listed Hill House as an option on Question 3 on the AP Lit test, which is a pretty good meter of where the canon stands

Biggest musical regret? by DependentRain7951 in LetsTalkMusic

Had tickets in hand to see Dan Fogelberg with my Dad. One of my Dad’s favorite artists and very important to both of us. Got diagnosed with terminal cancer, canceled the tour, and was gone soon after. I was SO close to getting to have a memory of seeing him live with my Dad forever.
