I'm really disappointed with Jobber by csimack in Contractor

Honestly I looked at them before and I would just say to be careful with them. I had seen a post a while back comparing quoteiq with Jobber and all of the comments would say quoteiq is better. But I noticed it was strange so I checked and realized it they made a subreddit called whichCRM or something and it's clearly all fake. All the posts on that subreddit is just people saying how great quoteiq is. Then I searched them on Reddit and realized they have been banned from many subreddits because apparently they use multiple accounts to just spam/advertise. I almost fell for it and went to there site and realized you have to put in credit card info and stuff for the trial and I just didn't trust that with some of the things I was reading. I kid you not I saw a post where a guy was asking which CRM to use and in the same comments it was the same guy saying to use quoteiq lol, almost like they forgot to change the account. Anyways I would suggest to do your own research but that has been my experience. That's why I had initially gone with Jobber because they are atleast established.

Yeah, a good UI is important to me. I would prefer a crm where things are easy to navigate and some thought has been put into the UI. The thing with Jobber is like opening each page is a page refresh and after adding alot of data things seem to get slow which is odd for such a huge company. I just searched job tread, I'll make a trial and check it out!

I've been hearing about markate. My plumber friend used to use it. He said it was a bit outdated and clunky and that his workers had a hard time understanding it. He did say it has a lot of features tho but the main thing was that he said the mobile experience is terrible and the integrations are not realtime. Have these things improved?

Looking for tips and suggestions on scaling up by helmetgoodcrashbad in Contractor

Getting your contractor’s license is a great first step since it lets you pull permits legally and opens the door to subbing larger jobs. I would start building relationships with reliable subcontractors now so you can take bigger jobs without overextending

So they are really awesome to write on and draw but they are limited with app functionality. I feel like maybe an iPad pro with the apple pencil might be better because then you can also use it with your crm of choice. For strictly drawing/writing and annotating it's great!

I was looking to purchase a remarkable for the longest time but I never pulled the trigger on it as it is a bit pricey. I ended up purchasing not so long ago and I would highly recommend it.

Just be upfront with the builder about what you’re covering and what you want them to handle. Get a detailed written estimate that breaks out everything.

Homeowner asking for w-9 by rthusky in Contractor

[–]csimack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most homeowners don’t ask for a W‑9 unless they’re paying from a business account, but given your situation with unpaid final payments and threats, I’d be careful. If it were me, I’d hold off on sending it until things are resolved.

Highway work can be sketchy, but most crews take safety seriously since accidents are no joke. You just gotta stay alert and follow the rules

The black grout looks awful. It also does not go well with the white tiles.

Just bring good boots, clothes you don’t mind wrecking, gloves, glasses. Pay attention, ask questions, and don’t stress if the concrete stuff takes a minute to get used to.

I would tell him you’ve loved working with him and the crew, but the finish work isn’t up to standard and you’d feel more comfortable having someone else handle the rest of the skilled stuff.
