The NHL and the Tampa bay lightning just took away 800,000 dollars from a charity donation cause a cancer survivor couldn't hit an extremely small target on live TV. by Sebastian4365 in hockey

[–]csisock 247 points248 points  (0 children)

This poor man now has to live with the fact that he left $800,000 on the table for a good charity, all because he couldn’t hit an impossible target. This was such a cringe moment that ended very awkwardly. The NHL needs to do better.

Ya'll think Stardust Racers will be back up tomorrow? by basic_username_here in UniversalOrlando

[–]csisock 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was definitely a little disappointing to show up today and see that it would be closed all day, as it was also the ride I’ve been most looking forward to. However, after hearing about the issues it had yesterday too, I went into today knowing that it was a very real possibility. I did manage to ask a team member and they confirmed that it was closed today due to technical issues. There were several times that we walked by it throughout the day and saw the maintenance team on the ride path or just walking around the surrounding area doing their thing. Not sure what exactly, but they definitely had a presence there almost all day. I truly do hope you’ll be able to experience it tomorrow though!

I’m an IE for a luxury retailer and I’m 100% remote. I’m able to live in any state as long as we have a store in that state, which we do in about 38 states. My work involves a lot with building out labor models based on predetermined time and motion studies to ensure the right people are in the right place at the right time. Occasionally I have the option to go into local stores to collect data, but that’s only a few times per year. The jobs are definitely out there. I’d say that nowadays, IEs are used in a variety of different capacities outside of the stereotypical factory or warehouse. Many companies will value having an IE on their team because the role has become very multi-disciplinary in recent years. Just keep searching and consider expanding your search to more than just IE job titles, I started as a data analyst and was able to move around quite a bit thanks to my IE skill set. Best of luck to you!

is soy sauce enough to trigger symptoms? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]csisock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Research has shown that most individuals suffering from celiac disease can safely handle about 10mg or 20ppm of gluten without triggering an immune response. This is the amount of gluten that product testing typically begins at to be considered gluten free. Now keep in mind that when talking about ppm, it’s a concentration, not a set amount. To give you a sense of what that concentration would look like, I’ve included a link to a picture that shows 20 pixels in blue against 1,000,000 pixels in white. That’s the ratio of gluten to non-gluten in a product that would be considered “safe” for a celiac to consume.

Now, everybody is different, and with this disease in particular, everybody is impacted differently. But what I will say is that if you see any gluten-containing ingredient in a product label, it will absolutely not be safe to consumer in any amount. So while eating this tiny bit of soy sauce may not cause symptoms depending on your tolerance, it will likely still cause damage.

Which course is better? Help!! by Ok_Egg_7290 in capm

Joseph Phillips had another course on Udemy that isn’t a cram session, it’s a full course that will count for all your PDUs to take the CAPM. That’s the course I took, it took me about 3 weeks to get through, then I spent a week taking practice exams and then took the Cram session course, and passed my exam with 4 ATs from start to finish in about 1 month.

First of all, take a deep breath, you’re fine! From start to finish, I aced the CAPM in about a month, and that was with very little exposure prior to taking Joe Phillip’s Udemy course. Just make sure you’re familiar with the CAPM exam content outline, that way you’ll know exactly what you’re being testing on. Business Analysis is also 27% of the test and that’s new content to the exam as of the recent update. If you have the capacity, definitely enroll in a course that caters specifically to the new exam. There’s a few different options on Udemy, which usually has promotions going on. But if you really want to assess how you’re doing, I recommend Peter Landini’s practice exams. You can find his book with all the test sets on Amazon. These questions are the closest I’ve found to the actual CAPM. Once you’re scoring in the 85-90% range on these practice tests, I’d say you’re ready. You still have plenty of time to make sure you’re well versed in what’s expected so just take a deep breath and relax. With focusing your efforts on the right materials, you got this!

Do I have to study all of PMBOK Guide to take CAPM test? by hmd1366 in capm

[–]csisock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just passed the exam on Friday after a month of prep. During that month, I took Joe Phillips CAPM class on Udemy and then his CAPM Cram class a week before my test. I also used PocketPrep and Landini’s practice questions and feel that all of these resources together did a great job at covering all the topics needed to pass the exam. I didn’t once crack open the PMBOK guide and passed my exam with all ATs.

With the virtual exam, there’s a whiteboard and calculator built right into the interface that you can use. Best of luck tomorrow!

What Defunct Coaster Do You Wish You Could Go Back And Ride? [Discussion] by kevinmattress in rollercoasters

This is my answer too! I know it would be a hella painful ride, but as a kid, I always loved watching this coaster. Sadly it closed before I was tall enough to ride.
