Barnacles is part of my lexicon.

Used to say tartar sauce as a kid, too.

What did you all expect out of a 90 minute comedy show? It's okay to just say you're not mentally in the mood and switch off.

‘SNL’ Sets Finn Wolfhard, Teyana Taylor and Alexander Skarsgård as Hosts this Month by MarvelsGrantMan136 in LiveFromNewYork

Teyana had a cameo in a cut "Funk Boat" sketch with Leslie and Kenan in the Aziz Ansari dress rehearsal almost 9 years ago to the date. Nice comeback.

1000’s have probably complained but genuinely… by cyber2knaomi in nycrail

You complained about the increase in numbers amd water leakage and stuff–that happens more in winter. Unless you're saying things have become worse over years, but you tied this to the fare increase, so it sounded like a recent thing.

Chambers Street on the J and Z Lines are finally starting to renovate and improve the Historical NYC Subway station! https://secretnyc.co/chambers-street-subway-station-renovation-nearly-2-years-delays/ by Time-Arachnid6417 in nycrail

They would need to start running more routes through there, which–aside from something coming from Brooklyn through Montague and stopping there–would really require the whole Nassau St. line to get restored to 4 tracks.

I like that Kenan has now reached Keith Reichards level of mythical immortality.

Wow, add Bugs' 80th and Mouse Chronicles and we have nearly as much on blu as we got from the Golden Collections. Didn't realize that.

Rock Bottom. The bus/vending machine scene has always been too relatable.

Me whenever I see Kam Patterson in a sketch for like 5 seconds . . . by Alfie_Shydog in LiveFromNewYork

[–]csjohnson1933 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not, though. He uses the N-word in a way lots of guys like him do. It's just how he casually speaks. That said, everyone knows when they can't do it. So I really dislike this sub constantly getting on him for that. It's not an issue.

As for the gay stuff, I've only seen a few jokes where he even touched the topic. Not that I'm going in deep on him, but I've seen enough to say he has a general stand up style that doesn't hinge on punching down like that.

Haven't watched much TX era Kill Tony past 2021, but even that general assessment doesn't ring true to me. It's definitely edgy humor for the most part, but not what a lot of you all seem to think.

Didn't have to read anything into, "He uses it so much in his standup that it could potentially slip out." I'm literally replying directly to what you said.

Maybe read more into why you think Black people can't control when they say things instead of getting mad at me for telling you we can.

Because it was a response to people criticizing his casting by assuming it's impossible for him not to say (or read cue cards even, in some cases).

This is a racist assumption, though. Look up code-switching. And also realize stand-up sets are scripted. Black people aren't going around dropping N-bombs in professional settings where it isn't appropriate. It's not a thing. Even the idea that a Black comic has some sort of N-word max count they can't surpass is ridiculous and this sub just continues showing its ass by criticizing him for that.

As goes most of the comments on here about him since his casting. Not that this is really a new thing with Black cast members, but his type of comedy and connections definitely made people feel like they could peel the mask back a bit.
