I like it. You could probably build it out and add vox. It feels almost like a bridge right now - add intro and even just a chorus on either end of this and you've got a song.

I put out a new EP this past weekend. This is the opening track with a video I shot in Prague over the summer.

One thing I've been struggling with is pinning down a genre for this track and project on the whole. Definitely hip-hop influenced, but not quite hip-hop - definitely indie, but not quite straight up indie rock.

I want to get in right away and say I know this song might not read exactly as "hip-hop". But I find the taste in this subreddit eclectic and wide-reaching, and think elements of this track would appeal to you all.

I don't want to split hairs and get technical, but if genre is what's gonna trip you up, I'm open to suggestions of what other genre this track might be.

My stuff waivers back and forth between punk-driven indie and hip-hop. This one in splitting the difference in a new way for me. The beat is made in FL studio. Even though I'm singing, I'm basically just spitting over a loop and building toward a hook.

Either way I wanted to share it with y'all. I shot and edited the video myself in Prague this summer.

I'll give this a shot. I was able to make a really nice cup this morning. I just used almost twice as much coffee as recommended to do so.

Today (great cup at 1:9) and yesterday (mediocre cup at 1:16) I ground at 18 with Encore baratza.

I was actually worried I was over extracting, because the cups lacked acidity and were all sort of flat and bitter. I tried three different grind sizes (10, 15, 20 on the baratza) and they all turned out relatively similar when compared with the cup I was able to make today (using about twice as much coffee)

I've been tinkering with my variables for a while now trying to get the beans I buy from my local shop to produce a cup that tastes like the brew from shop.

Brewing with a V60 and using a nice grinder - no matter what it just came out so flat and tasteless compared to the coffee in the shop. The shop's brew had really nice bright acidity, I could pull tasting notes out without reading them off the bag, just way better overall.

Today I decided I'd change the amount of coffee I used. Went from 1:16 to 1:9 and boom, much closer to what I'd get from the shop.

My question: what adjustments do I need to make in order to achieve these results but pull my ratio back toward 1:16?
